2nd 10K

Hi - just wanting a little advice from you lovely people. I managed my 2nd 10K on Saturday, my first was in November but then had to isolate for 2 weeks so I built myself back up after the break. I remember my first one, I had to have 2 rest days because my legs physically wouldn’t run 🤦‍♀️ so I’m wondering whether to try a little run today or just wait and go for a 5k tomorrow? Anyone with any similar experience of this?

I’d wait another day tbh.

Itchy feet though isn’t it 🤣

Definitely! 😂😂 I know I’ll get jealous if I see someone out running 😂

I might just do a little 2k loop to stretch off? 🙈

Tomorrow you’ll be annoyed and will wish you’d had the extra day off

I’d leave it for another day. I always allow at least 48 hours between long runs. Go for a walk instead.

I did a very slow 2k and it loosened my legs off. I’m going to do a nice walk tomorrow then back with a short run on Wednesday 😊

Thank you both 😁

Well done on your 2nd 10k, i did my first 10k, last week, was quite stiff, the next day, especialy my calfs, did a short 4k, having had a days rest, in between, and felt much better after the short run. It's funny, sometimes when i have two days rest, i really miss not having a run, still cant believe i'm saying that, having only started running, in sept!!! 🤣

Wow! 10K in 3 months! 👏👏👏 amazing! Well done you! I started in July and managed my first in Nov! Crazy how you just get the bug isn’t it!

Mine was a pretty slow 10k, took me about 90 mins!!! 🐌

10K is a massive achievement! I have a friend who is obsessed by speed which is great if that’s what you goals are but I’m happier with adding distance than speed! I think my first one was around the 1hr20 mark and this one was 1hr 9 but I felt slower 🤷‍♀️

I'm like you, not too worried about speed, seem to have found, a nice comfortable pace, and most runs feel more enjoyable, i guess with time, we all naturaly increase pace a little! 🤔
