Festive Bingo Run

Today was the day to deliver my local Christmas cards so I decided to combine with my Fartlek ✔️ on the bingo card. Christmas playlist on and running and walking along my local residential streets popping cards through the door. This also allowed me to see lots of decorated Christmas trees to far exceed the 5 I have previously seen in cafes on the promenade. ✔️ I also wished Merry Christmas to some runners and triathletes, one of whom was dressed as Santa Claus for her cycle back home. ✔️ I am so used to seeing her in fancy dress at parkrun that I never thought to take a photo. A rainbow 🌈 appeared as I returned and many of us took it as a sign of hope following our move into tier 4 today.

This little chap had been placed on the pavement by the pitch and putt course to make everyone smile.

I hope you are all well and coping with the news of a different Christmas break this year. 5 more sleeps to go and 5 more boxes to tick.

Oh yes, I ran/walked 4k which makes 29.9k towards my 25 mile target.

Great work on the bingo run today! It will definitely be a quiet Christmas for many of us, but here’s hoping 2021 shows a bit more normalcy 🤞

Thanks Allie, fortunately we’d had a social distance meet up with my sister on Friday to exchange presents- from today we cannot leave the city. Our plans for a quiet Christmas to include a run on the prom will go ahead (weather permitting).

A safe and Merry Christmas to you and your family

That is a lovely photo of "that little chap" as you put it, well done on your 25 mile target with this mornings 4K run/walk, sorry that where you live is now in tier 4 and you can't go anywhere, even on Christmas Day, where I am in Scotland, tier 4 will start on Boxing Day.Tomorrow I am paying a visit to the place I ran, run 3 of week 5 of C25K.

Fortunately we had already planned to stay home and @oldgirlruns is classed as part of our household still so she will be with us.

I hope you get to see your daughter sometime over the week.

I have been invited to my son in laws's parents house for Christmas Dinner again this year, my son in laws father is the only family member who has seen me running as he lives very near the route that I do my running, he often walks his dog Poppy around that loch I run round, I met him with the dog yesterday after I finished my 40th virtual parkrun, he wished me well and is looking forward to see me on Christmas Day, may I wish you, UpTheStanley and Oldgirlruns a Happy Christmas 🤶 🎄

You’re smashing the bingo runs Dexy! Well done! 🙌🙌 I love your rainbow. Beautiful. 🌈

I’m so sorry you’re in tier 4 now. What a turnaround. 😕 I hope you and UTS have an enjoyable Christmas though. Here’s to many VRB meetups in 2021. 😍

Yes it’s a bummer cheeky, but our numbers have been so low up to now that I think some people have got complacent since lockdown 2. I suspect the virus was brought in from London and its spread pretty quickly.

Our plan was to stay at home and have Oldgirlruns round and as she’s in a support bubble with us that can continue.

Thankfully I rushed to my sister in Surrey with all our presents for her gang before we were due to be placed in tier 3.

That’s a good reason to have a run and the photos are lovely as usual, I’m sorry you moved to tier 4, stay safe

Yes only 1 day in tier 3 and then into tier 4! Numbers went up so quickly after being so low in this area. Luckily Brighton/ Worthing area looks fine for you.

We are fine fir the moment tier 2 but not sure how ling that will last and of course with half the family in tier 4 we can’t see them anyway, it’s pretty rough really but needs to be done

Well done on combining your Christmas card deliveries with a run and mega bingo ticks 😁I clearly need to up my game a bit...

Tier 4 is pants isn't it.

Was supposed to be Christmas lunch at mum and dads - so will now have to see what I can cobble together out of the freezer and tomorrow's veg box delivery.

They on the other hand will be eating turkey probably until Easter🥴

I hope your parents have room in the freezer for Turkey leftover meals. I bought a baby Turkey for the 3 of us before the announcement, they’ve probably completely sold out now!

I hope you enjoy what you can do on Christmas Day.

Those rainbows do touch the heart Dexy - I saw two during my run at Alexandra Park on Thursday. Well done on your progress so far.Yes Tier 4 has been quite a shock - we're currently trying to work out what we can and can't do with the family.😢

It was the speed which surprised us JonathanP after having been well below average for so long, but I think QA hospital is struggling at the moment.

I understand a family with a child under age 1 can now form a support bubble with parents, which might help

Yes thanks, we're thinking about that option👍

Fantastic! That's a very productive festive run 🎉🎄🏃‍♀️It was a bit of a shock to hear yesterday's announcement, wasn't it. I'm just glad we live by the sea, I feel so lucky. Even during bad times, it always lifts my spirits 🌊🐚🏃‍♀️

Thank you.

I have just spotted your knitted nativity scenes in a previous post, how lovely for a community project.

We have people who produce knitting on park benches and bike racks. We call them the knitting guerrillas. 🤣 🧶

Well done Dexy5. I'm surprised you've still got 5 more bingo ticks to go - you've done so well.

The distance ones will be ticked after Christmas, and the Christmas Day run should tick the rest off Lifluf. Thankfully the weather is looking good for that one. 🎅🏻🤶
