Another steady but wet CR this morning. Woke up early, looked outside .. it was dark and I saw the rain coming down, trees blowing hard.. 🤔hmmm.. looks like it’s going to be a wet and windy one!! I did chuckle to myself, when did I become an enthusiastic runner wanting to get out there even in rubbish weather 😂😂
I started my run in a muddle trying to get the volume right on the music, start Strava, get my phone stashed away, look where I was going etc.. took a while before I found my stride. At 2km I thought, I’ll just do 5km today. At 4km, I though nah.. I’m enjoying this now, at least 6km.. and so it was just over 6km and another unintentional upside down wobbly reindeer 🦌🎄 which is clearly my “go to” route! I’m going to have to start mixing things up and finding new routes!!!

What are we like eh, a bit of wind, and rain, isnt going to stop us! 💪💪💪Made me laugh, you sorting yourself out, at the start, reminded me of a run, while still doing c25k, just about to start running, after 5 min warm up walk, and a lady stopped me, to ask for directions!!! 🤣
Well done for getting out there and adding another 6km to your collection-if someone had told me a couple of months ago that we would be ... 1- running anywhere.... 2 running in the rain and 3 running 5k+ I would never have believed it 😁🦌
I changed jobs last January and at my old school we had a massive field that was 1km all the way around. We used to take the children running around it and I literally could get half way around and that was my lot. When I ran 8K last week, my first thought was that I could have made it around the field 8 times now without stopping - that made me smile 😁
That's dedication 💪🏻 bit of bad weathers not gonna stop us, builds character 😁😁😁👍🏻 the pre run kerfuffle is all part of the fun 🤣 get gear just right, remember to start strava, choose music, choose coaches, how far shall I run, which route should i take. . . Did I lock the door? 🤣 All stuff that goes through my mind as I'm setting off!
Well done on another good run 👍🏻winters not holding up Team Gazelle 🦌🦌🦌
Seems us Team Gazelle are a pretty dedicated lot!! I always spend the first 5mins of a run going through checks and stresses I’m dealing with at work but I’ve trained myself now to only allow that first 5mins and to banish all stresses that don’t relate to my run and just enjoy the “run zone”. That and having a fair few conversations with myself “more bloody dogs and kids on scooters ahead”.. “ugh missed those lights..” 😂
😂 You could just add some antlers.. except there’s no route at that (head) point. So that idea hits the dust. I think it’s very lamb-like with its tail!!
I’m nowhere near as hardy as you - full of admiration!! - preferring to look for the good weather slots. So far we’ve been lucky, there have been enough sunny stepping stones and I’m able to be quite flexible.
Well done R4UL - you all seem to be comfortably adding these 6k+ runs to your achievement lists. 👍💪👏 Very proud (but jealous) supporter of team gazelle 🦌 maybe I could just be the cheerleader till I’m back out there again myself 😁
Hey RAUL - sorry, I missed this reply. My last run was a few weeks ago now (my ill fated dark run!). I ended up feeling pretty miserable with the pain in my ankles and feet after that so I thought I should take an extended break and heal properly. I think I just keep ignoring the signs that I needed a longer break than I was giving myself before, as I was so eager to keep progressing along with everyone else. 😩 It's very frustrating but I'm determined to get back up to speed when I can 👍I'm getting to the point where I'm not feeling the same discomfort anymore, so fingers crossed I'm not on the bench for too much longer. 🤞
Ah .. I feel for you. Bloody rotten to be dealing with ongoing injuries but good you’re giving yourself time to get right again. You will be out on runs before no time and chasing us down! Team Gazelle miss you 😀
Missing being a fully fledged team gazelle member - I may need the team (and coach Dyer) to get me back on the right track with gentle encouragement and nudges in the right direction! 😂🤞🦌
