Luckily my doctor cleared me for running yesterday, just giving me the advice to take it easy (i.e. not speedwork, hills...). I was so scared it was a stress fracture or something nasty, but luckily nothing of the sort.
So today was the day! I haven't run in what feels like ages, so I knew things might be a bit cranky. And they were! I felt like I was back at C25K, counting down the seconds. Funnily enough it was also a loop which I did most of my later C25k runs on! So very deja vu. It seemed to take forever to get to km 1, but after that my legs seemed to remember the motion of running again and things seemed to be a bit more normal.
It was so good to run again!! I really had missed it. On the other hand it was a bit of a shock for my body! I ran for nearly 5k, and am very pleased. I'm hoping things will come back in the next couple of runs; but I'll definitely take these next couple of weeks to ease back into things.
