A few weeks ago I completed my first 10k and, looking for a new challenge, signed up for the Spring HM plan. I bought myself a nice new luminous running jacket, so hedgehogs could avoid me as they overtook, I was feeling great! First week, not too bad, a bit of foot pain but managed to stick to my plan. 2nd week, disaster, the dreaded PF escalated so I could barely walk on my rest days but hey I only had to hobble to my laptop so I struggled on. I did an 8k on the Tuesday feeling a bit fluey but nothing major. Later that day my temperature started rising, peaking at 40 and you can probably guess the rest! Positive test (I blame the kids bringing it home from school) and 2 weeks of feeling lousy. I’m out of isolation now so may try a little walk later, the other half thinks I’m mad but I’ve been itching to get going again. I’m just hoping I haven’t lost too much fitness as it was all going so well. On the positive side my foot is feeling much better 🤦♂️

Oh what rubbish timing, it's good that you are starting to feel better, but I wouldn't rush it though, I'm sure you'll get your fitness back once you start again. And as you say at least it's given your foot time to heal.
Sorry to hear about the covid, hope your able to get out running soon, each time I run, it crosses my mind, about maybe catching the virus, driving a coach, full of school kids, so try to make the most of each run!
Wow you have been through some hard times. Glad you're feeling better but I would take it slow and steady particularly with a bad foot. Sometimes starting back too soon takes longer than making sure its properly ok.
Oh no! Sorry to hear you’ve been ill and on the IC ☹️. I blame the kids too as I work in schools and they are Covid hot beds! 😬. Start slowly and build up carefully and you’ll be fine although it may be a bit frustrating. After 3 weeks on the IC it took me about 3 weeks to get back to where I was but you’ve had C19 as well so take care and listen to your body. Good health 🍺
