Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Run 14 was surprisingly tiring on Wednesday- 6K so I decided to leave an extra day’s rest before today’s run- think now the distances are creeping up, my little legs need a bit more rest. Run 15 this morning- aim was to see how I felt after 5k then 6 and try to add a bit more if I felt ok. Was out mega early running to and around the park- quite why my Garmin says treadmill run I’ll never know- was more running in straight line then a few circles then a straight line back again??? Was tired by the end but was happy to achieve 7km. Have a great weekend- happy vibes to my fellow gazelles who are out and about and to those on the IC 🦌🦌🦌🙂🏃♀️

Well done, and 7k too, inching closer to that 60 mins/10k, because my pace is much slower, i did 53 mins, last saturday 🤔, so might get closer to the 60 mins, today, will just see how it goes. My run on thursday, was like your wed run, found it a bit harder than usual, and was only 4k, maybe hadnt drunk enough water, day before!
Thanks- that felt just far enough today- I’ll stay at that for a bit I think with maybe shorter ones in between . You’re doing well to be heading to 60mins 👍🏻👍🏻🦌
You’re doing so well... I’ve not run since I graduated on 9th of Nov as I tested positive for covid 5 days later so I reckon I’ll be a long time before coming back and will have to start small 🙄 well done you tho x
Aww no- hope you are feeling a bit better now-my area is still in tier 3 area so still a big risk. You’ll have to do little bits and build it back up when you’re feeling strong enough- take care x
Thanks Gail- I feel like my bones are getting older by the day- I thought running was supposed to make you feel better and more energetic! Definitely not going beyond that for a while now though and having some shorter ones midweek- that stiff achey leg feeling is starting to creep in so time to take it steady . You’re doing great with your runs - we’ll be celebrating when you get to your 5k !!
It has massive benefits in my experience. (+ on top of all these, M’s blood pressure systematically drops after each run by a significant amount.) Mostly the aches are part of the strengthening process, but have to watch out not to overdo it too soon.
Thanks Laura-you’ll be clocking up the km in no time. I’ll be staying with 7k for a while now and doing shorter ones in between - don’t want to go too crazy 🙂
Whoop!! Wow..well done on your 7k 🥳🥳 That is just great you’re now up another notch and getting closer and closer to that 10k. I am going to have to get my a** in gear and get after you 🤣 I’m having a couple of extra days rest from my last run on Thurs to rest my usual knee niggle that I don’t want to flare up again. I had a fantastic sports massage today which I feel has helped SO much, really loosened up my tight muscles 💪🏼 so hopefully, I’ll be raring to go Monday for my next run. If we hadn’t arranged to meet friends for a long walk tomorrow, I’d be out tomorrow morning but c’est la vie!! Hope you’ve been basking in your new PB glow today!!
Thanks! Think you’re very wise taking some rest, I’m sticking to 2 days between each run and some shorter ones during the week as my legs do feel a little stiff- need to do more stretches I think. That sports massage sounds amazing-I might have to look into getting one of those ! Happy running on Monday-sending out the gazelles 🦌🦌 🥕
