I had a bit of challenge to start my run this morning - I got outside just to realize it was like a skating rink so I had better go back in and grab my ice cleats; I finished my warm up run to hit my lap button so I could keep track of my stats during my fartlek intervals just to realize I had disengaged the manual lap button because I always accidentally hit it when I don’t want to. I couldn’t figure out how to fix it on the fly so I stopped my activity, fixed the setting on Run settings and started a new run with a shortened warm up session. Then I got to the park where I had hoped to run the fartleks just to realize it was going to be way to treacherous there to do any sort of speed work. So I made my way back towards home and ran around my neighbourhood. But despite all that, I had a great run! There were some nicely clear, dry patches allowing me to really let go during the speed intervals (once I remembered to unzip the bottom of my run skirt a bit so my legs had more freedom to move). I sprinted while singing 2 verses of We wish you a merry Christmas in my head (one verse wasn’t long enough to really let go) and then focused on running nice and slow until my heart rate dropped down to zone 2. I did this 5 times ✅. I listened to Spotify’s Christmas in Canada Playlist while I ran ✅ and I broke out into a breathy Good King Wenceslas when that song came on just as I finished a speed interval ✅ giving my my triad of Christmas Bingo squares today.
I also counted decorated Christmas trees on my Monday run, finding 30 which was much better than last week’s 5. So that gave me another square ✅ this week. Yippee! I can’t wait to see what next run will bring me 🤔.
After getting cleaned up after my run, I continued on with my Christmas cheer, listening to Christmas carols on Sirius XM radio while I baked a myriad of buns for tonight’s supper and lunches for the remainder of this week. As I look out the window right now the snow is just starting to fall with nice big flakes. I was just wishing for some fresh snow! What a great day and it all started with a Christmas playlist that I normally wouldn’t have thought to run to. Again, I just love this December Bingo! I can safely say though, I’ll be leaving the Strava art for a little bit longer, although I really enjoyed looking at other people’s creative attempts posted today!

Oh Sask so to be clear, you errrr speed skate, whilst wearing a quilted skirt, and then on top of all that whilst careering along playing Xmas bingo you're belting out good king wenceslas, and you've still energy to bake, that Garmin is gonna need new parameters 👍
Wow SaskAlliecat, that's just amazing, all those squares ticked off in one go, a brilliant sounding run, some post run baking and a snow fall. What a day, just fantastic ☺️👍👏👏💥💥💥💥🎅🤶⛄🎄🦌
I notice that the temperature where you are isn't too cold at - 2C, snow lying around gets very icy especially if the temperature goes a little above freezing then re-freezes, that is when ice skating is better than running, so congratulations to you for that Christmas music run.
Where I am in Central Scotland all the ice and snow has gone, in fact the weather forecast for the next 8 days is to be mild and changeable (+9C) with no frost or snow but some rain as well with bright intervals, a bit like the weather on the west coast of Canada.
That sounds very much like the Canadian west coast! As I was finishing my run, today it was starting to rain but turned to some gorgeous big snow flakes by the afternoon. Unfortunately we are in a freezing rain warning now. I would much rather stay at -10°C than be around freezing in the winter. I really dislike the ice!
What a busy day you’ve had - both during and after your run 😊😃. There’s definitely plenty Christmas warmth and cheer in your post, despite the cold outside. Sounds like today’s run could have started with speed skating!? 😉
I loved reading this is clear that you had a blast, reading about the conditions and looking at your photos makes it seem more like 🎄🎅I'm looking out at my garden grey gloom skies and very damp not chistmasy at all☹️It sound like you enjoyed the Xmas play list as much as me 🎶😊 xx
I like Christmas music but wasn't sure I would like running to it. I was pleasantly surprised and will run again to more Christmas playlists this season.
It is definitely feeling Christmasy now. I might have to actually put up a tree this year. We normally don't because we're gone for part of the holidays and I don't trust the cats but we'll likely be staying close to home this year.
