Happy Monday everyone! Just done CR13 - my 2nd 6K which made me happy because then I knew the first one wasn’t a fluke! All went ok- no dramas. Which is more than I could say for my walk to work this morning. Very early-no one around- fell on the ice 🥶🤦🏻‍♀️- landed on my left knee. My first thought (pre-couch to 5k) would normally have been- get up you fool- no- my first thought now was oh no, I hope my knee’s ok because I’ve got a run tonight 🙄😂. Luckily all was fine. I was already slightly perturbed from the night before when I woke up in the night and remembered I’d been having a dream where I’d been out on a run - what???? Where did all the dreams about cocktails by the pool go??? These 2 incidents lead me to think that running is slowly creeping its way into my psyche. Although.... 2 reasons why I think I’m still not a true runner yet....,,I still can’t resist keep checking my watch to see if I’m nearly done or get out the habit of still breaking down a run into “just get the toxic 10 over with, then that’s nearly at 15 which is nearly halfway, which is close to 20 mins and then no one quits once you’re over 20mins cos you’re nearly there, then once you get to 30mins all is good because anything you do beyond that is extra so doesn’t feel tiring because you can always stop . “🤭😁 I’ve still got a lot to learn. Happy gazelle runs for the rest of the week to you all 🏃‍♀️🦌- watch out for the ice 🥶 😁 C x

Ouch that sounds painful 😩hope it doesn’t cause you any problems.

You’re definitely a runner because you dream about running 😀

Think I got away with it quite lucky- did my run tonight and everything seemed ok. When I dream I’m running a marathon, then I’m going to worry!

Phew! That’s great. But just remember that dreams are sometimes portents of what’s to come ..... just saying 🙂

Well done on the run Bambi 👍🏻 another solid 6k, excellent stuff 👌🏻 got to be extra careful next few months with ice and other winter related hazards, sounds like the knee held up though.

Thanks- 👍🏻I was 2 minutes slower than I was on Saturday but that was probably because I was taking it steady not wanting to end up on the deck again 😁

Well done you, another 6k! 👏, your flying at the moment, be carefull on the ice, and now dreaming about running, what are you like! 🤣I'm just doing a 30 min run, tomorrow evening, felt a bit stiff after sat 6k, and my knee was aching a bit. I was chuckling about how you break up your runs still 🤣, i'm usualy ok, if i keep it slow, and get into it, after the toxic 10, might try another longer run on sat, as i finish work on fri, back on furlough, till jan 4 😀

I can’t face not breaking it up into bits-I’m such a child -think it’s with spending all day in a room of 30 of them- it’s rubbing off on me 😁

Great run but ouch on your fall this morning, hope it doesnt seize up over night. It's so slippery out there just now. I love your thought process as you run, andcyes you are a true runner, congratulations. Notice how you aren't thinking "I'll treat myself to a cake if I finish this run" 🤣 oops, maybe shouldn't put that thought in your head. Happy running 🤗

Thank you- I’m getting into quite a routine now. I try not to be too bad- I like the 10lb weight loss since Sept that’s come with running so keeping that off is my incentive

That's an amazing amount of weight loss, well done.

So glad that the slip didn’t lead to anything more than embarrassment and shock. Lucky escape. Take care, Bambi, your bones probably aren’t as flexible as your namesake... and yours are real rather than fictional!!!

Loved reading your reflections on dreams and self-doubts. Sounds like the former are winning out over the latter!!! 💤💪🏼🏃🏼‍♀️

And anyway, what’s in a poolside cocktail compared to a winter’s run? 😂🦌🦌🦌

Thanks Gail- will be taking it careful in this frosty weather. Poolside cocktail Vs a run in the cold? Ummmm🤔 🍸 🍹 😋😁

Well I still divide my run up in my head - not because its problem, but because it feels good to know how far I've got. I also try not to do a 'there and back' route - somehow a circular route feels much more satisfying. Be careful of that ice, you're really on a roll.

Thanks- I think I need to plan out some new routes too- trouble is the rookie in me wants all the routes that have no inclines!

Don't worry. The hills may be a struggle to begin with but slow and steady beats them. There are only a few round me but I used to end up walking up them and felt bad about it but surprisingly I can run them now. You can do it too.

Ohhh just seen your post!! Poor you taking a tumble like that, thank goodness you are ok. I would've been exactly the same, "OH NO WHAT ABOUT MY RUN!!!" 😀 You did well to get out and smash 6km after slipping earlier in the day. I find it's quite often the shock of a fall that sets you back more than anything as well. I've been worrying about slipping on wet leaves. A warning to us all though with these currently very cold conditions it can be icy out there now.

Love that you're dreaming about running 😂😂 that is a sure sign you are a runner now. I caught myself looking at head torches earlier.. what has become of us?! 🤣

I must admit, I don't check my timing or pace when I'm out now as it can get too distracting for me. My Garmin buzzes at every 1km and I set it for 5km so every 1km I do after that (just the 1km!) is a bonus. Well done for getting another run in and a 6km too 👍

Thank you- we’re getting there bit by bit! I bought a head torch too- haven’t needed it though as it’s well lit where I’m running at the moment - my son uses it to walk around the house tormenting the dog with it - she goes mad chasing the light beam 🙄
