I was trying to do Japanese slow jogging but think I have pulled my Achilles’ tendon or calf both feel sore . Can get up stairs ok but sore to walk. Do u think it was because jogging on my toes instead of mid foot . Do you not let your heel touch the ground when you slow jog ? It would be quite hard on your calves if not. Anyone tried it. ? Wearing flatter trainers as well instead of cushioned.

All my jogging is slow! No, seriously, I've seen the videos but I've not tried it especially. However I would say definitely aim for the all-purpose mid-foot strike. How important Japanese 'barefoit shoes' are I couldn't say, but even as a long-time Morris dancer I would not attempt a slow jog on my toes.

Ouch that doesn’t sound right or good. A sudden change of style and a flatter shoe will always trigger new muscles. Are you making sure you stretch out properly. Take a few days rest before a slow run in proper running shoes with a better foot plant. Good luck and happy running 🤗

Thank you. Going to to do the C25k trying to build my strength and stamina up more and it gets me out 3 times a week taking it slower. Have got new balance fresh foam 1080v8 cushioned but thought at first they were too firm at front of toes to bend when slow jogging. I see on the slow jogging they use really flat trainers but I think they will hurt with too much flexibility. Will try my New B. Have a good run . 😀🎅🏻
