What a glorious sunny morning it turned out ! โ„๏ธโ˜€๏ธ

That 50 minute long run just had to get done today ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Iโ€™ve noticed when Iโ€™m walking the dog at night that lots of Christmas trees and lights are appearing which makes my nighttime walks quite jolly and festive ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„ So on with my two favourite Xmas albums , James Taylor & Mary Chapin Carpenter ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽถ I was so in the mood for this ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜‚

Weโ€™ve had some pretty miserable days so this run was pretty late . Also I still get quite nervous before I have to up the time ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ So I know Iโ€™ve probably chickened out the odd morning too .๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜”

I really enjoyed the short run of wk4, struggled with the 30 minute and absolutely loved the 50 minute ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

In saying that I know exactly why .... pace , but I also love that Iโ€™m learning and today I was in control of it . I really did wonder how on earth I would keep going for 50 minutes but itโ€™s all about the pace ๐Ÿ˜‚

Everything about today was just right , I didnโ€™t realise quite how slippy it was but that actually helped my pace as I had to be pretty careful on the bits of road that the sun hadnโ€™t quite reached. The weather was cold and frosty so I had the full works on , warm long sleeved top, hat and gloves . Gloves and top off at 1km ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Kept the hat on though , quite liked it , I kind of felt like areal runner today ๐Ÿ˜‚ passed a couple of other runners who were all in good spirits too and it felt good ๐Ÿ˜

I chose a route that I hoped had 50 minutes to it without having to double back or go round in circles to get the time in . Just not a fan of going round in circles . Having done an indoor walking and stretching class on you tube I set off from my house and took the long main road that linked to a neighbouring village , ran through the village trying to use lanes where the sun had melted the ice and frost.

I Only had to stop and walk on one steep downhill section but better that than taking a tumble โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Then along the beach , past the golf club and looped onto my favourite road down to the lighthouse .

Lots of dog walkers , cyclists and the golfers were pretty delighted this morning ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒ๏ธ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ An absence of sea swimmers today though ๐Ÿค”๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ

By the time I was heading back I was surprised and delighted that 38 minutes had elapsed. I had made a conscious effort only to track my pace today and ignore time and distance. I felt really good and knew the 50 minutes wasnโ€™t going to phase me . The last 12 minutes got me near to home so I only had a 5 minute walk back .

So glad Iโ€™ve done this run Iโ€™m really managing to observe myself much better and not only grasp mentally what I need to do but actually go out and do it . Iโ€™m not fast but Iโ€™m getting better and my PB for today was controlling my pace and being aware that I was ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Once again Iโ€™m in my โ€˜Gosh this running thing is brilliant isnโ€™t it ? state of mind ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

50.03 mins , 6.03 Km, 8:18 ave pace , -3 c๐Ÿฅถโ„๏ธ

That sounds like such an enjoyable run! And the pics are just great! Completely agree with how brilliant this running thing actually! Well done! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

Sounds like you enjoyed that! If I dwell on speed I get fed up; I am speeding up and I can go faster for 30 secs, but my avg is 8 something. So I just dwell on the enjoyment and mixing up my runs using NRC โ˜บ๏ธ

I did thank you , I canโ€™t sustain a fast pace so Iโ€™ve gradually learnt to control it from the outset . Some runs better than others ๐Ÿ™„I know if I want to enjoy runs and maybe have longer runs that I too must keep it steady at โ€˜8 somethingโ€™ or thereabouts .Enjoying running is what I started this for and actually Iโ€™ve been happy and content since I hit 30 mins ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Mixing it up

is keeping it fresh tho ๐Ÿ‘Œ

What a great run and awesome pics! Well done for controlling your pace, I tend to set off way too fast when it's cold and then rein it in once I'm warm up / run out of steam!

Sounds like a fantastic run, Racing, congrats on your PB!

I feel a touch nervous about the longer run of each week too but like you say, just slowing it right down puts you in good steading. Your pace sounds great for 50mins!

Lovely to hear youโ€™re in the groove of loving running right now ๐Ÿ’• Keep it up!

Iโ€™m heading out in a min to start Week 4 ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Good luck with wk4 and yes! every run is a learning curve whether itโ€™s a good one or not . I love that you take something away from each one run that moves you forward or illuminates something in a lightbulb moment ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

Brilliant run and you got it from it exactly what you wanted! Such lovely views (love the crashing wave on the shore) but you did right to take it easy on those slippier sections. No point tempting fate and getting an injury. Onwards and upwards to next week ๐Ÿ˜Ps. I always end up taking my gloves off early too haha but can't bear the thought of not wearing them to begin with โ„๏ธ

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Yes Iโ€™ve moved on from faffing about with phone/earplugs etc to faffing about with winter accessories ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿงค๐Ÿงข๐ŸงคAfter youโ€™re wee scare with possible injury and feeling the icy road under my trainers it makes you even more aware that you donโ€™t want anything to stop you being able to do this new running thing ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Itโ€™s taken on quite an importance really ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜
