Celebratory run

The exercise rules in lockdown France changed on Saturday: instead of limiting us to 1km radius from home, it’s now 20km over 3 hours. Hooray!!

It pelted with rain yesterday, so I saved a 11km hill run for this morning. Really steep uphill for 55 minutes so I took it slow and steady.

The air was fresh and smelled of yesterday’s downpour. There was snow on the Canigou mountain. The ravines roared with water. Debris and small landslips on the road.

Barely a car until I got back to the outskirts of town. Certainly no other runners or walkers, and the hunters I could hear were far, far away.

Simply wonderful. Now I’m knackered. 😴

Thank you B34. I’m learning the benefits of tackling hills at a moderate cadence. So much more enjoyable 🧗🏻

I read that you did that. 16 days is a long break but it’ll all come back 💃🏻

Circumstance celebrating special birthday snd then job interview prep ( which paid off)... and I’m now on induction ... whilst on that 1 run a week will suffice, supplemented by walking and then post induction I get 4 days off a week so will go back to 3 x per week 😀

How lovely to hear you are now able to venture further. What a magnificent celebration run, you’ve obviously lost none of your fitness with the 1km restrictions. Happy running 🤗

I did get quite creative with the 1km limit, but it was getting samey. Best wishes to you 😎

How wonderful! No wonder you were itching to go beyond your 1km limit with scenery like that on your doorstep. Fantastic climb 😅 - makes my South Downs look like little mole hills 🏔😊. Happy running HF

I’ll be back to the more moderate hills of Cornwall soon. Enjoy your South Downs as well, Dd 😎

I'll not complain about my hilly bits. They're mere pimples compared with yours.
