I completed my first 10 K for over 16 years. I've adapted ju ju's magic plan to get me to 50 miles in 30 days. I'm doing a challenge to fund raise for the Alzheimer's Society. I hope to complete the challenge on Monday with a 3 mile time trial. That will leave me half a mile short, but a warm down jog should cover that.
Thanks for the advice about stretching after runs. That and support stockings and strength training seems to have got these aging muscles through.

Congratulations! and good luck in your fundraising challenge for the Alzheimer's Association...a very worthy cause. I'm considering Juju's Magic Plan. Can you tell me which plan you followed (distance or time) and why you chose the plan you did. Best of luck!
While I'm obviously not Steady_Stevve , I can tell you that Ju-Ju's Magic Plan is absolutely brilliant. I did the distance version and ended up running 10k earlier than planned, simply because the plan is so flexible and easy to follow. Happy running!
Hi, I chose distance over time because I needed to complete the 50 mile challenge. I seem to be able to run 3 times a week okay so I adapted the plan to this pattern. Then I just kept on upping my long run. Half way through I had some problems with my left calf muscle so a dialed back on the interval running and did one session of easy running, which worked. My advice is to use the magic plan as a base and adapt it to your situation.
Well done reaching 10k and for running all those miles for Alzheimer. I did a running fundraiser for them earlier in the year, such a good cause. Enjoy those last kms on Monday to complete your distance. Happy running 🤗
I wish I'd known about this challenge as I could have done it. I've just added up my November runs. 80.75km so I would have just made it.Hope you got there🙃
I had 2 weeks leave to use this month, not sure I'll get chance in December to run as often, I might just have to draw up a schedule and see what's possible 🤔
