I’m going to have to rest again tomorrow as my knees feel awful. I’m hoping they will feel better for week 3 run 2 on Thursday ( hate these week 3 runs aaaagh). Got to get them done as I don’t want to go back to week 2.
Adding an extra rest day: I’m going to have to... - Bridge to 10K

On your next run, try going a lot slower, take shorter strides, to reduce the impact on your knees. Have a look at Japanese slow jogging. As you build up strength your leg muscles will support your knees more. You could do some knee strengthening exercises on a non running day.Don't please push on faster than your body is ready for. Repeating a week is better than picking up an injury that stops you running for weeks or months.
Thank you I will try to slow down, I covered 3.7 km on my last outing ..... is that too fast?
Like grannyhugs said, what's fast for one will be fine for someone else. It's only too fast if it's too much for your body at the moment. Try easing off and see if it makes a difference. Much better than having to stop. And I'm all for an extra rest day, I'm of that age when that's a pretty normal thing to do!

You take however many rest days as you need to ease up those knees but do try to keep mobile. Slow way down for the longer runs, you can build on speed later IF you want but there is no right or wrong speed, just the one that suits you and your lifestyle. Happy running 🤗
