First run of the year with a frost on the ground. 1c. π₯Ά Decided to stick to pavement as the rain and mud have made most trails difficult. Wore my buff/headband over my ears and pulled long sleeves over my hands, winter wool socks on. Perfect. Not too hot not too cold. Enjoyed watching everyone making their way to work and kids walking/scooting/riding to school. Once I hit the park was surprised to find it mostly deserted save for a few dog walkers. Enjoyed the mist over the grass and the glistening trees. Had to detour 100m over deep fallen leaves to avoid flooding from the river just as I was due to loop back, so ended up taking in the castle grounds and itβs hill. Homeward bound and more school kids and a few fellow runners- everyone young and old is saying good morning to each other π hit 4k and realised I was in with a chance of a 5k pb. Decided to up the pace and ended up matching my existing pb BUT this one had hills! Still a long way off 5k in 30 mins (not sure that will ever happen) but I have got it down from 48 mins to 42 mins. Happy with that.

Frosty and atmospheric
That's definitely a chilly start to a run, but sounds like you did a great job on matching your clothes to the weather. Sounds a lovely place to run a river, hills and a castle π°πWell done on matching your PB this time with added hills ππ
What a cheery run and a good one too π
Good run for you, well done! You were perfectly kitted out for the weather. ππππ
You are obviously capable of improving on your 5K PB on the flat, if or when you want to. I havenβt specifically run that distance for a while. Well done for matching your previous PB ππ
Nice seeing the mist over water or grass at dawn, you won't see that in the middle of the afternoon, good run for you, it won't be long before you can get a sub 40 minute 5K.
Thanks Al. That would be nice π
