I was really inspired by people talking about their “last run of the year” so I decided to skip the extra rest day I’d decided to take and have a New Year’s Eve run after all. Planned to run a 7.5k route but 5k into it I found my way blocked by a road bridge closure. The police had cordoned it off and were not letting cars, pedestrians or (more importantly) lone evening runners through. My shortest alternative route home was to simply run back the way I came so I ended up running 10k. Felt great for doing it and improved on my PB time. Great way to end the year. Happy running to all in 2019.
