I am so delighted I ran my second sub 30 minutes 5K this afternoon 28:42, which is my fastest time so far. My splits were 5:57, 5:45, 5:39, 5:43 and 5:33 so not perfect but I am proud of them. What a different experience it is running in the cold and wind, the change of seasons has really resonated with me how far I have come from starting C25K in the heat to now running in the cold it feels such an achievement. I didnβt go out till later on in the afternoon (was waiting for washing machine engineer to come out, all sorted thankfully) ended up missing the rain and enjoyed a lovely, fresh run round the park. I was nice and warm in my long sleeved running top and running jacket. I used the runners loop to tie my trainers and did notice a difference regarding support and my knee, so thank you.
My new running 𧦠π§¦π§¦ were delivered today so a nice treat!!
Happy Running everyoneππ»ββοΈπͺπ»

Although Battersea Park is brilliant for running, if you want to explore more you can simply cross the Chelsea Bridge and run to Parliament and back. That's over 6K in the pocket on a flat stretch. Long sleeves AND a jacket? Hmmmm.... You'll realise that the warmer you get, the more uncomfortable and slow your runs can be at that tempo. I used to lap Battersea in my jacket during bad February, windy days, and leave it once I got warmed up. The rest of the run? Short sleeves. π
Nice splits! Defo more challenging with the wind...but I too prefer the colder temperatures (especially once Iβve warmed up!)Good run! ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ
Well done that is a fantastic time. I have only just graduated on C25K and am currently running about 35 mins. What was your first time and how did you set about improving it?
Thank you so much ClarrieBlue and many congratulations to you on your Graduation such an amazing achievement πππβοΈβοΈβοΈπ π π πͺπͺπͺ.
I completed my last run of C25K In 30 minutes (4.78Km). I ran my first 5km on my first consolidation run in 34 minutes and 30 seconds mostly in the rain on 21st September. I continued to run 12 consolidation runs ( 3 x 5km per week for 4 week) which really improved my stamina and after encouragement from the forum I started Ju-Juβs Magic Plan on 4th November. It is it a fantastic plan and I am enjoying it so much. I feel I have grown in confidence and stamina.
Good luck with your consolidation runs you are doing amazing.
Thanks for the info 9weeks2Run. Our first 5ks were quite similar so there's hope for me yet lol. I have started the 10k programme but all the indications and advice are to spend some time consolidating 5ks for a month or so like yourself so I think I will do that. Thanks again!
Wow what a fantastic run, I'd love those splits!! There's something refreshing about running in the colder weather. I love the cold and wet runs I actually prefer them. Well done again!! By the way, what's the runners loop tie?? I suffer sometimes with pain in one of my knees so just interested to know what it it. πππββοΈ
