First time out of the house since 5th November thanks to NHS track and trace app. Did I head straight for the supermarket? What do you think?

Thanks Buddy. I'm determined to build to that 21k now.

That must have felt absolutely BRILLIANT! Still Speedy after 2 weeks' isolation and glad to hear you are well. So pleased for you.👍🤗🤗🤗😁🏃‍♀️🤸‍♀️💃🤩

Thanks. It did feel brilliant, but not so speedy. My Garmin tells me it was unproductive. How little does it know 😁

Well done Speedy , that’s a good run after your enforced break. A nice steady pace too.

To be honest I think a non run break every now and then does do us good physically, even though we miss it.

I think it being forced on me didn't help. I started off well and ended up slobbing out on the sofa watching puppies on tv while eating blueberry pancakes. 😳

Fantastic run and what a way to celebrate the end of your self isolation with a 10k plus run😁

That must have felt amazingly good!

It did feel good - and it still feels good! The difference in my mood this evening is amazing. I'm not going to get through this winter without running.

What A great way to re-enter civilisation, with a bumper 10k 💪 I see 21k is next on your goals list... me too!!

21 in 21 has a great ring to it, don't you think? 😊

21 in 21 does sound fantastic - except a half marathon has been on my to do list since September. You wouldn't think that anything would get in the way during an extended period of lockdown, but it has. 😔

This week my family has made the difficult decision to cancel our usual Christmas celebrations because we are scattered all over the country. It has crossed my mind to do my half marathon on Christmas day ...

Yes, I feel your pain regarding Christmas. My family live 250 miles away so Christmas is an extra special time where we get time to get together but not this year 😕 We made this decision weeks ago though so I've had time to process and accept (this year we were due to have the in-laws so... well... I'm more than cool with this 😉😂).

I like the idea of throwing in a Christmas day run in though, I was thinking a 5k BUT you've just made me think bigger... it can be my 12k day 😊.

I plan to add 1k per month so I should reach 21 by Nov 21 (first 10k in Oct), not too bad a goal considering I couldn't run the length of myself last Feb 😀

Happy running.

I think you're brilliant 👏

What a way to mark your return!! Fabulous run in a terrific time 😀

That's a very kind thing to say, thank you. My hips this morning suggest I may have got a bit carried away and a rest day with some stretching is in order. I've been slogging away on my exercise bike over the past couple of weeks but it's not quite the same as hitting the pavement.

You put me to shame. I had an almost identical self isolation and just went for a walk! First run was a mediocre 5! Great job. I know what you mean about Christmas 😢 but I’ll leave the long running to you! Good luck.

There's nothing mediocre about a 5k! You got out there, that's the important thing (and probably more sensibly than me). 👏

Christmas - maybe too soon to think about yet. I just thought running might stop me falling into a fug of alcohol and chocolate. To be fair, it didn't last year and I was running then. 😊
