Morning all! So after my epic 10K on Tuesday (still smiling) I'm wondering how to proceed. I think the sensible thing to do now is to consolidate for a bit. Would you guys advise carrying on with Juju's 20min/30min/long run pattern each week? Also, if I have an extra rest day, is it better to have it before or after a longer run?

Thanks

What's next is the best bit! The freedom you've worked hard for and given yourself the chance of πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

For me I'd still have a long slow and comfy run each week as this is the bedrock if it all. The other runs feel free to mix up, experiment and enjoy.

Your extra rest day would depend on your weekly mileage, you've earned it πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thanks, did a nice 25 mins this morning, but ran up one of those 'I'll never be able to run up that hill' hills!

Wow - 10k ... you must be so happy- surely just get a mindset before you go out next of intervals, speed, consolidation... the world’s your lobster πŸ™ƒ you’ve got this far ...the choice is yours

Take the extra rest day after a long run I’d say. Every 3rd to 4th week, drop your mileage to allow for recovery. Why not think about moving to 10 miles then half?

That sounds like good advice. I've thought about those longer distances, but hardly dare say it! 😬

Congratulations πŸ₯³ on completing the Magic 10K Plan! πŸ’ͺ Such an amazing achievement! I’ve decided to keep the 4K and 5K for my shorter runs whilst adding 10% to the distance of my longer run each week. I’ve pushed through to attempting a 10 mile run tomorrow but I will cut back/rest for a week before pushing for 20K/HM where I’ll probably increase my shorter runs to 5K and 7.5K too. πŸ˜‰

Wow! Can you believe you just described 7.5k as a shorter run?!! Good luck tomorrow! Keep us posted.
