Hi hope everyone is well. This is my first winter running. Complete c25k in June and I can run for an hour now. Still very slow, I have asthma and breathing in the cold air has set it off a bit. Any advise on running in the cold for the whizzy?

Hi WW I'm fairly new to this forum but did read a few days ago that possibly a thin buff over your nose and mouth works for asthma sufferers and heats up the colder air. Don't know how that would feel when you're running. Hope that helps.

I love running on those cold, frosty mornings but, I don't suffer from asthma, so I understand your concerns. I agree on trying a Buff, I wear one when it's really cold but that is mainly to keep warm.
Recently, I've been using the Buff as a face covering whilst out on a run when people are coming too close, and to be honest it didn't interfere with my breathing too much, so I'd say give it a go and see how you get on.

Hi there, it really isn’t easy being wheezy! I have asthma too and have found the cold mornings made my breathing a bit uncomfortable...I usually have a puff of my blue inhaler about 5 mins before I leave the house but in the last week I’ve also started using a thin snood that I got for a bargain at Aldi, wearing over my nose and mouth for the first 5 mins and then pulling it down and it’s really improved things for me! It warms the air up before it gets to your lungs, so stops the wheezing, and I really recommend it as the temperature drops. Happy runnings 😀🏃🏻♀️
