Wow what an amazing sky 😊 thick fog in Yorkshire this morning.

I'd love to do the actual London Vitality 10k, but it's not a very practical thing for me living where I do, but well done for signing up. It's great to have something to look forward to 👍

in reply todijep

Yes London is not very central and so a very long way for many, I’ll be able to combine it with seeing my son and partner hopefully , looks like the whole year might pass without our being able to get together in person! 🤗

It's so difficult not being able to see family. But great that you'll be able to combine a visit and a run. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you might get to catch up in person before then though 🤞

in reply todijep

Oh yes, me too, it seems so strange not seen them since late November last year, been in touch more than ever though which is good 🤗

Would love to, but the hope is that I'll be on holiday in Canada on that day. It was cancelled this year so I am keeping everything crossed it will go ahead next year. But I'm not holding my breath!

Good luck!

in reply toBirdlady64

Fingers crossed for you then, a lot can happen in 8 months 🤗

Hey jorgeRuns - I'm thinking I might just sign up for this - my first ever 'signing up for running' thing, but would love some VRBs & motivaton over the winter months!

What does it actually entail? and where do I find the link to sign up?

It will be my first real event - I did the ‘virtual’ one this October for the first time but only took up running during lockdown so have never participated in a group event before !!

in reply toJuliet202

Me too Juliet although I did a couple of Race for Life 5k events for charity many years ago. 🤗

in reply to58soon

That was partly my thinking, to keep going and not let my recent 10k be my only one 🤣. It’ll be my first ‘real’ race too but I understand the course will take in some iconic London landmarks 🤗

Aaaargh ! I’ve done it - I’ve signed up !! That’s the longest term commitment I’ve currently made in my life ! That means I have to sustain this running malarkey / habit / obsession !!! 😱😇❤️

in reply toJuliet202

Yay, 😁... great, now we’ll have to keep running 🤗 🏃 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️

Me too @Juliet202 !!! I've just signed up for my first ever race! Eeeek!

Good to have some VRBs to run alongside, although - who knows - we may actually be running together for real next May!

in reply to58soon

That would be fantastic, we have a team, 😁 I’m sure it will grow 🤗🤗

I’m going to sign up for this! 🏃‍♂️👍

in reply toDavid_G

that’s great David, something to keep us motivated through the Winter 🤗

Definitely a bit of motivation🙂👍 I’ve just entered and given myself a predicted finishing time of just under an hour!😊🤞

58soon profile image
58soonGraduate10 in reply toDavid_G

Fantastic David G! I had no idea what to predict as a finishing time, so I wrote 1hr30 - based on my 5k time plus a bit! Off we go!

David_G profile image
David_G in reply to58soon

I did the Croydon 10K in 1:01:42 last time it was staged so I’m being fairly realistic I hope!😊

in reply to58soon

I think I put 1hr 10min based on an optimistic picture of running faster after another 8 months training 🤔 and the course being flatter than I am used to running 🤗

in reply toDavid_G

Great and wow, I’ll be starting a fair bit behind you... or do they send the slowest out first? no idea 🤣🤗

David_G profile image
David_G in reply to

They tend to send groups off based on projected times, fastest first. That way you hopefully don’t get runners bunching up.

in reply toDavid_G

Thanks, makes sense 🤗

I’m doing Edinburgh half marathon the day before otherwise I’d have considered it even though it’s far away. Enjoy!

in reply toTasha99

Enjoy Tasha99, sounds great, maybe I’ll head up that way the year after, I love visiting Edinburgh 🤗

Liverpool rock n roll running festival is also that weekend. That’s another bucket list run. 🤣

in reply toTasha99

That one definitely sounds worth a look, I have started a list, maybe I’ll see how many i can do before my 70th 🤣🤗

I might just do that! I live in Greater London so it's possible! Beautiful sky!

Roxdog profile image
RoxdogGraduate10

I've signed up!

OMG what have I done! Put my time in as 1 hour 15 mins. Have been slower than that fastest hr 19 mins), but maybe I will have speeded up by next May! Hope it goes ahead. Maybe we will all have been vaccinated by then!

in reply toRoxdog

fantastic Roxdog, I’m hopeful we’ll be faster, fitter and in a better place with Covid by then 🏃‍♀️🤗

Thanks for info, now signing up. Also first race as graduated in October. Can’t believe I could be in a race in London (love it) and not have to run a marathon lol, well not yet 😬

in reply toCatho78

Welcome to team ‘health unlocked London’ , it’ll be great fun 🤗

Done!! Just signed up too... Had been pondering over whether I was brave enough to try this but swept along on the wave 🌊🌊🌊of enthusiasm generated by your post... and at the end of a very irksome day... I decided to bite the bullet and sign up too!! Ooops - I’m really not big on forward commitments but now I’ll just have to do it!! 🤪🤣🤣

in reply toJiveblue

Great news Jiveblue, looks like you’re definitely brave enough, be great event to look forward to and keep us all motivated through the Winter, 🏃‍♀️🤗

Maybe another time - I am signed up for the Edinburgh Marathon Relay on 30th May. This is what made me start C25k back in January! A couple of teams from work got together and I decided it was a great motivator to get me back to running - which I hadn't done for about 7 years. The marathon was cancelled this year and we all decided that rather than do the virtual one or get a refund, that we'd hold out for the event next year. Hopefully it will be on in May.

in reply toFionamags

Sounds great Fionamags, I can’t wait to get a chance to run with others, guess I’ll have to though, looking more hopeful now for late Spring next year 🤞🤗

TailChaser profile image
TailChaserGraduate10

There’s a whole group of us signed up for it jorge as we deferred from this years but still did the virtual version anyway. All being well, see you there!!! 🤞🤞🤞

Great thanks 🙏🤗
