Wow what an amazing sky 😊 thick fog in Yorkshire this morning.
I'd love to do the actual London Vitality 10k, but it's not a very practical thing for me living where I do, but well done for signing up. It's great to have something to look forward to 👍
Yes London is not very central and so a very long way for many, I’ll be able to combine it with seeing my son and partner hopefully , looks like the whole year might pass without our being able to get together in person! 🤗
It's so difficult not being able to see family. But great that you'll be able to combine a visit and a run. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you might get to catch up in person before then though 🤞
Would love to, but the hope is that I'll be on holiday in Canada on that day. It was cancelled this year so I am keeping everything crossed it will go ahead next year. But I'm not holding my breath!
Hey jorgeRuns - I'm thinking I might just sign up for this - my first ever 'signing up for running' thing, but would love some VRBs & motivaton over the winter months!
What does it actually entail? and where do I find the link to sign up?
It will be my first real event - I did the ‘virtual’ one this October for the first time but only took up running during lockdown so have never participated in a group event before !!
That was partly my thinking, to keep going and not let my recent 10k be my only one 🤣. It’ll be my first ‘real’ race too but I understand the course will take in some iconic London landmarks 🤗
Aaaargh ! I’ve done it - I’ve signed up !! That’s the longest term commitment I’ve currently made in my life ! That means I have to sustain this running malarkey / habit / obsession !!! 😱😇❤️
I think I put 1hr 10min based on an optimistic picture of running faster after another 8 months training 🤔 and the course being flatter than I am used to running 🤗
OMG what have I done! Put my time in as 1 hour 15 mins. Have been slower than that fastest hr 19 mins), but maybe I will have speeded up by next May! Hope it goes ahead. Maybe we will all have been vaccinated by then!
Thanks for info, now signing up. Also first race as graduated in October. Can’t believe I could be in a race in London (love it) and not have to run a marathon lol, well not yet 😬
Done!! Just signed up too... Had been pondering over whether I was brave enough to try this but swept along on the wave 🌊🌊🌊of enthusiasm generated by your post... and at the end of a very irksome day... I decided to bite the bullet and sign up too!! Ooops - I’m really not big on forward commitments but now I’ll just have to do it!! 🤪🤣🤣
Maybe another time - I am signed up for the Edinburgh Marathon Relay on 30th May. This is what made me start C25k back in January! A couple of teams from work got together and I decided it was a great motivator to get me back to running - which I hadn't done for about 7 years. The marathon was cancelled this year and we all decided that rather than do the virtual one or get a refund, that we'd hold out for the event next year. Hopefully it will be on in May.
Sounds great Fionamags, I can’t wait to get a chance to run with others, guess I’ll have to though, looking more hopeful now for late Spring next year 🤞🤗
There’s a whole group of us signed up for it jorge as we deferred from this years but still did the virtual version anyway. All being well, see you there!!! 🤞🤞🤞
