I graduated from Couch 2 5K in early October and am feeling very bereft without a forum family. I can't yet run 5k, in fact a pretty consistent 3.5km in 30 minutes but wondered if I could join this group as an bit of an interloper while I work through consolidation and up to 5k?
Probably a very silly question... - Bridge to 10K

Congratulations on your recent graduation and welcome across the bridge. Everyone is just as lovely here as on the c25k forum. Good luck with your continuing running journey. Happy running 🤗
There’s a few of us here just consolidating 😊
There’s a few of us here who should have moved on to the next forum but are quite at home here 🤣🤣
Think this is my forever home! 😆
I agree, popped over to the marathon forum when I did 10miles but not sure I want to go further as that was 2hrs. 🤗
Yes, someone suggested to me I should do 10 miles but like you say it’ll take ages!! I probably could do it - I’m a plodder (one speed - just keep going for longer 🤣). My 5k time is usually around 35 minutes but my last 10k was 1:11 🤷♀️
I think the only qualification for membership here is a desire to run more than 5km or more than 30 minutes. You don't need to have achieved either yet.
Welcome! This is a lovely forum! Even if you aren't running 5k yet, after a few more comfortable consolidation runs you will be able to increase the done you run for! Still dip into cto5k forum, lots of us do that, to encourage the new starters!
What’s great about here is you get to read all the inspiring posts of everyone who started c25k in the hope of running for 30 minutes and shows you what’s possible
That's what I've done, after a fair bit of consolidating 30 mins runs. Doing JuJu's magic plan time version knowing that I'd hit 5k somewhere. And I have. Did 6k yesterday. Still over the moon😄 good luck.
Hello GardenGnome12
There are lots of lovely people here, some very new runners, other with lots more experience, so it's a great mix and very welcoming.
And don't forget, even when you're able to run longer distances, it's not compulsory to do even 5k, let alone 10k, every time you go out. Voice of experience, oops!
Happy running!
No way you’re an interloper GG12, you’re more than welcome here! Have fun sharing your running journey. We look forward to hearing all about your consolidation and onward progress! 😀🥰
Hi Welcome, I take approx 50 mins sometimes more to do 5k and I am allowed the hang out so welcome. Everyone is super helpful and very lovely and accepting of all speeds abilities and questions 😁
I'm hitting around 3.5k in my 30 mins and graduated in sept. I'd like to run faster and longer one day, until then just hanging around between the two boards and keeping running
Most definitely, welcome!
Welcome....some lovely people in here and some familiar faces to make you feel at home. Be where you want to be....no rules as far as I know, bit like running in general
I'd say this is where you belong if your hoping to progress from c25k. Welcome to the bridge 😊
Hi. I was only managing 3.5k in 30 mins when I completed c25k. After a few months I am now doing 5k in 40 mins. I wasnt a runner and didnt think I would ever have completed c25k. The distance will come as you run more and build on what youve done. The main thing is enjoying the running. Just enjoy x
I struggle to get 3 km in 30 mins so your time is pretty good to me! However I have kept going and ran a 10 km so hope you find lots of tips on here. I have!
Sounds to me like exactly the forum for you. Perfect place to discuss your continuing journey and get inspiration from all of the other great folk on here. Well done graduating. Happy running GardenGnome12
