I must say I'm not a fan of the cold, the rain... or the dark. Autumn / winter really aren't my seasons! Nonetheless, I've continued getting out, still aiming for 4x a week. Last week I really toned it down, also because I was feeling really tired, so basically did 3x 30 minute easy runs. That definitely did my body good, and this week I was feeling back on it
Today's run:
I hadn't imagined to fit in a run during the day, and I only finished work at 8pm! I don't usually run in the late evening / night; also due to feeling comfortable, but I really wanted to get out / tell myself I could do it despite all the elements. I decided to go run just along the very central loop of the city, where its very lit anyway with all the buildings / streetlamps / generally its always busy. I did another fartlek run - and honestly I'm enjoying speedwork so much!! Again NRC, and I swear I find it so much easier than when I first did a fartlek run Unfortunately I forgot to record on Strava, but I know the loop was around 5k.
This is my second run of the week - the other being a comfy 8km on Monday. One of my main goals for the next month is to increase my everyday runs from 5/6k to 7/8k. Monday's run I also really enjoyed I'll do an easy run tomorrow also; and then go for a long run (the first of two weeks after last week's recovery!!) which I'm excited for!
