Joined this forum a few months ago on a high after my 60 minute breakthrough. Since then fractured my toe , resulting in cuboid bone damage (non running). Whilst plussing up on cycling to keep up fitness and stamina, yes, of course I came a cropper on my bike. My left thigh took the hit and have been recovering for the last few weeks.
Anyway have now managed three shortish interval runs as a starting point. The last one I was accompanied by my 9 year old granddaughter who does a good Bambi impression and can run fast as only the young can!!! All went well and now feel good enough to restart with an aim of sometime next year reaching 10k.
Was kept buoyed up and positive by reading all the posts and exploits happening out there, quite an inspirational forum. Thanks to you all.

So glad you are in the road to recovery the IC is not a nice place to be. Sorry to hear that you came off your bike too. I am sure you will reach the 10k mark soon. Happy running x
Tha k you, feeling good about getting back to it, will be steady and slow (at least initially)🤣✅
Welcome back H-G, you have been in the wars as my granny would say, so glad you’ve recovered. Lovely to hear about your granddaughter ‘bambi-ing’ along with you, what a joy. Good luck for your 10k training 🤗
Ouch 🤕 You have been in the wars. Glad you’re finally back! Take it easy. I was only on the IC for 3 weeks and I’m still building back up to 30 mins (dodgy ankle). Hope it all goes without a hitch. Enjoy 🏃♀️
We don’t seem to be improving much but we enjoy what we do and today we had english rain and wind but it’s not cold yet here it’s going to be 16 degrees on friday my next day off
Thank you very much. It’s so lovely to receive such nice replies from you and all the other great people on here. You’ve achieved great things since your 5k graduation, well done, hope it’s not too long till I get to 10k like you.
Thank you 😊 I’m going to take things steady now though. I’m pleased that I managed a 10 mile run but I’m going to build up to that again slowly. 5 and 10k’s are the most I will do for now. And I’m sure it won’t take you long to get to 10k once you’re fully recovered.
