Rather than a big gremlin fuelled debate π§ββοΈπ¨ ! I just switched off the laptop and declared βNo...itβs got to happenβ ππ½ββοΈ not just for the LEJOG steps π¬π§, but for the headspace and wellbeing π¦Ύ.
It really wasnβt my most energetic run π, but itβs done β and I feel so much better than I would have done if I had βpostponedβ the run. I can get used to running at different times of the day π€. Itβs all a bit of a winter experiment!! π
Iβll be back out on Thursday, but itβs definitely time to go and get some rest now!! π².... πΏ.... π and Iβve earned it! π Tomorrow is another day! π
Happy running Runners! β€οΈ

Well done Fab. Iβm impressed at you running later in the day. Like you. Iβm a morning runner and havenβt run in the afternoon more than a couple of times since C25K! Maybe youβll get used to it this winter? Another string to your bow! π» π
Thanks so much lmc50!! π€ I have to admit, it may not have occurred if it had got darker. Can you imagine trying to run around there in the dark?....Just...NO! πβ€οΈ
Thanks so much WillowandSola!! π€ It was lovely to see the red sky!! I usually prefer the path in the park for Sgt Major Garmin βdrillsβ, rather than grass, but a couple of youngsters were enjoying a little gathering together (nothing bad!) and I would be running past continuously π₯΄. I just wanted my run to be reconnecting with myself and the outdoors! π² π³ ππ½ββοΈ....π€€
It takes me a little bit of time to let go of a full on day. So grass and the field behind it was. π³ π²...works a treat π
Well done you for getting out π I actually like running at the end of the day, when I can run obviously π I find it helps me to wind down ready for π€
Thanks so much Mum22boys!! π€ I do think itβs a great way to end the day. I felt so much better after going out. I didnβt realise how much I needed it!
Every step counts Mum22boys π¬π§!! Weβll get there! π€π€β€οΈ
When you get to this stage of the journey where there's more will to go, you know you're in the right place ππππ it is great to run at different times (although we all have our favourites) and in different weathers. Well done on getting out and 'making miles' because the feeling after is ace πππ
Thatβs brilliant and good use of emoji! I switched from morning to after work Monday for pretty much the same reason, seems everyone Was out running and overtook me but like you was glad i made the effort.
Iβm in the same situation- trying out different times of day due to sleepy mornings or work taking over. Have tried late morning, lunchtime, twilight. All ok as long as plenty of time since last meal. Also found running at night with a running club easier than running alone at night. Mornings will always be my fav though π
Thatβs brilliant Slothgoesrunning!! π€ Youβve given it all a go!! π I would try the running club I found to run in the evenings, but it means a drive to go and run. Iβm really used to running solo though. Youβre doing great!! πβ€οΈ
Great job getting out there! I'm finding the thought of getting out in the cold and dark just too hard to get motivated for. I must get better at it and just do it like you. Hats off to you!
Well done for 'just doing it'. I absolutely can't run in the mornings. Did it twice and nearly gave up both times πIm defo an evening runner! Hard tonight though in the drizzle, but got the long run done for another week. My legs will feel it in the morning π€£
I do my long run on a Saturday! It just works out better for me and I donβt mind if itβs raining, but the dark? π₯΄ Itβs not related to any fears, itβs just that I love to βseeβ things while I bumble along!! π
I hope youβll be feeling great tomorrow!! You did it!! πβ€οΈ
