I posted a few weeks ago about the first injuries I’d got since starting and finishing C25K and then onto the last weeks of C210K. I tweaked my left hamstring and felt both groin after slipping on treadmill so gave it a week and this wasn’t enough so gave it another week.

So went to try today again and fate appeared to intervene as treadmill not working but the few minutes it did work it was evident that my footing was not the best on it and I didn’t feel secure.

So taking the advice of almost everyone on here, I binned the treadmill and put my jacket on and went to the local track.

One PB later for 5K (25:45), no feeling of injuries and it felt great and I must admit I’m a lot happier at the thought of outdoor running from now on, better stride length, better stability and all round felt good.

So advice for those with niggles, take care and take the necessary time, I did think that I would be rusty being off a few weeks but exactly the opposite and looking forward to next run.
