This is the hill I attempt once a month 🙈May not seem high to all the established runners but for me it’s a miracle especially as I still class myself as a newbie (June beginner).
I’m not quite at 10k but I really feel I can by the end of the month 🤞🏻
Does anyone find if they run every other day they don’t go as far 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve had a couple of times where because of work I’ve ran every two days and I’ve done quite well & gone that little bit further!

Well done on your hill work - great for improving strength! 💪
As for rest days, I think it's about finding what works for you. I often take 2 days rest after my long run and as long as I am fitting in 3 runs every 7/8 days, then all is good! It is important to listen to your body and not be afraid of taking those extra rest days when you need it. Also, a short break every now and then can often give us a bit of a boost!
Sounds like you are working this out for yourself - good luck on your journey to 10k.🙂
Amazing, well done! 👏. Hills are troublesome, for me it’s more mental as I’ve done a few now - no choice living in a hilly area. This one looks huge from the Strava map! Great achievement,
Thank you 😊 it feels huge when you’re running it 🤣 I try not to look at it too much when I do it - I focus on the song I’m listening to, to keep my mind focused
I’m with you on that! Trying to focus on the lyrics or as one person on here advised, count your footfall on each leg to 100. It helps focus the mind.. I tried it and it worked!
Well usually I road run, I’ve stuck to the exact same route minus the hill since I started in June. The hill is along my usual route but I’m working towards getting my 5k under 30 minutes
I try to keep inclines to a minimum when aim for a fast run. At the moment I’m happy with my pace but I will have to research local places with hills and get started apparently it’s good for burning calories too. I think that by the time I lose the extra few stone I still have I will manage to get that bit quicker too 😁
Yes my usual run is flat slight incline here and there but not really anything. I’m hoping to shed a few more pounds and continue with this fitness journey 😊 Have a happy Sunday x
Awwww thank you 😊 tbh I was lying in bed typing earlier 🙈 #lazysunday but then I got the bug 🤷🏻♀️🏃🏾♀️ so I’ve just got back from a 5k 🤣 thought to myself - why am I chatting it when I could enjoy the sunshine ☀️ so thank you!!
