Got to work a late shift today so took the opportunity to go out and do the 5k run of Week 8.
It seemed a bit harder than usual today, the chill in the air seemed to take my breath away somehow, and after about the first 3k I developed a bit of a thick head, of which more anon... after Wednesday's success I was hoping for a sub-30 minute 5k but sadly it was not to be.
On the plus side, before things started to go downhill (as it were) I managed to post PRs for 1k and half mile, and a 2nd best 5k time which was small consolation for not feeling 100%.
And the headache? Last night I took my glasses off, and on folding the arms in one fell off, the screw had unscrewed itself and fallen on the floor, I couldn't find it so decided to wait for daylight. This morning I put on my spare pair of glasses... only to discover when I got home that my spare pair of glasses were on my side table in the living room... I'd got a pair out of my bedside cabinet with very similar frames but an old prescription. D'oh! An hour later with my proper spare pair on, head is much better and I've found the screw and repaired my "proper" pair!
