I am so glad I entered The Very 2020 Race For Life virtual event today!! I had an amazing time! π
I chose a new location π² π³ with a lake and it was absolutely beautiful. It was nice and cool, but with the sun shining. In between the 10 mins warm up and cool down, the run in my plan was 4 miles.
My 5k Race For Life ended up being 9k! Jeff sure is a good coach! I didnβt think I would, but Iβm loving the run/walk training ππ½! I was very relaxed and I could so easily have run on today! It was extra special running for a great cause too. Iβve spent all day smiling. π
I have 5 days of run data on my watch to upload, as Iβm having tech issues with Sgt Garmin ππ½ββοΈfalling out with the Garmin App . Heβs gone off in a big strop π, so no LEJOG update for me tomorrow. I will have to contact Garmin Support on Monday π€·π½ββοΈ...π².
Thanks so much Instructor57! π€ It was a little small for the distance, but it was so beautiful there, I didnβt mind!! πβ€οΈ
I like to think of my days as Polaroid snapshots of the positive bits. You have lots of these today and rightfully you should feel so proud. Being able to run and run 5k let alone more is something never to be taken for granted. The emotions you felt, the cause, your progress...all wonderful reasons to sit back tonight and be proud of you. Proud of who you are and what you do. Big hugs β€
Thank you so much!! π€ Yesssss! Iβm going to look a little like βRoadrunnerβ (π€...π...or a Whirling Dervish (for those much younger π₯΄...π) ........ π¬π§...ππ½ββοΈ π¨ πͺ π¨ πͺ π¨, when I get things sorted π€π½.
Great news about your runs too Mum22boys π€!! Weβve got plenty of time to get to JOG!! Letβs keep on keeping on!! Every step counts! ππ½.., πβ€οΈ
Iβm beginning to think youβre the mojo thief! People are always complaining theyβve lost theirs but I think youβve rounded them all up. π€£ Itβs so uplifting to read. Well done.
π€....been there BTP, you know that π. Itβs perfectly ok too. Itβs always here whenever youβre ready! A runner on pause is STILL a runner! π€β€οΈ
I ran home last night dressed in my jeans and warm coat. Iβm almost always wearing trainers now. It was just a quicker way to get home. Still able to do it when I want to.
Lovely post Fabulous450 and your absolute joy shines through! A new route can give our running a real boost and it looks like a beautiful place to run!
Race for Life is a fantastic cause too - well done!π
Thanks so much Sandraj39! π€ I almost missed it, but Iβm so glad I saw it the night before and registration was still open. It was a run of pure gratitude, love and inspiration. Definitely not an everyday run π ππ½ββοΈ π ! Luckily I already had a bright pink top and trainer socks so even though only I knew my cause out there, I was so ready to GO!! πβ€οΈ
Very well done π€ΈββοΈπ₯³π that's an amazing distance and for a wonderful cause! Well deserved π I'm doing race for life today but I'm pretty sure I won't match your 9k!
Fantastic achievement for a very worthy cause, Fab! What a lovely scenic route you've found - such a boost to be out in the sunshine and discovering a new place. The jeffing is a brilliant technique isn't it? Is your 10k plan on Garmin? Sounds interesting. I've had a few issues uploading data to the app too recently. Have to wait a couple of days then try again. Wishing you lots of lovely autumnal runs πx
π€«....MJ from C25K would be jealous I think, but there a new man on my block π ...ππ. Ooh...And my NRCβs Coach Bennett too...π! I listen to those runs on my walks sometimes though. When Iβm on a plan....Iβm on a plan! ... itβs ON!! ππ
Well done! I did mine yesterday as well - I planned to do the 5k, but it was such a nice day & I was going well, so I carried on for 10k. People have been so generous as well.
Thanks so much. Well done right back at you!! ππ½ππ½π«
I didnβt know about it until very late π³, I just saw a promotion on FB. I only pop in once in a while. I registered the night before (and I do mean night, π) and decided to just do my own personal donation on completion.
Lovely photos - sounds like that was an idyllic run too. Sorry to hear the Sgt Garmin is in the huff but I'm sure you get him sorted out. I start LeJoG tomorrow!!!!
Thank you so much π€ and donβt worry about our Sgt Garmin, Iβve got his cards marked good and proper. Heβll be reporting in at 0800 sharp tomorrow! ππ½ββοΈ....π³! π€£π€£β€οΈ
Ooooh Iβm starting LEJOG tomorrow too as I saw Fab450 was having such a great time that I wanted to give it a go too!! Did my 8k long run today so Iβll have to be satisfied with a dog walk rather than a run to do my first few km!!
π€£π€£π€£!! Fionamags, Jiveblue...Noooo....but Iβm getting lots of happiness as commission. Iβm so happy to be running (and walking) with many VRBs doing it too. Especially, when I saw the mileage involved and originally thought, βyou can shut that down girlβ! π
I realise now after a few weeks, I could just be getting my t-shirt!! How can I not be happy? ππ½ππ½π¬π§β€οΈ
Thanks so much David_G!! π€ The cause certainly makes it feel extra special!! And to do it in such an unusual way, Iβm looking forward to getting my little medal for the memory!! πβ€οΈ
Well done - sounds like you had a great time!! Your inspirational infectious enthusiasm has resulted in me (and my dog Rosie!) signing up to start LEJOG6 tomorrow. Very excited - even splashed out on some new walking shoes to help me on my way!!
But I failed dismally with Race for Life - ran 8k cheerily this morning but having omitted to sign up before I left, the only option I can find now is to join the 2021 RFL!! Aaargh!!
