Today was Day 3 of my 10k Garmin plan and a repeat of the last cadence and acceleration-glider drills.
I know why they call them βdrillsβ. Garmin can be a right Sergeant Major (itβs my new name for him ....when heβs not looking π€«). Every so often he just checks in to tell me to π£ βmove!β and I get up and dance, jump, pace up and down until he gives me the all βclearβ! π Better not try that when Iβm in company! π
It used to make me jump a little, but now I kind of look forward to it! π Iβm ready for yah βSergeant Major Garminβ!! π Itβs worth it. I have met my step count goals for the past two days now! π I didnβt create the goal mind! He gave it to me. π€¨...π€...π€!
I decided to add a little HIIT into my daily morning routine. The HIIT is only 5 minutes, so very doable. Thereβs nothing more encouraging to get you outdoors for a cool down π. It doubles as the warm up walk on run days too π€.
So thatβs me all up to date and moving on up to JOG, slow π, but sure β ! Iβd rather Sergeant Major Garmin than The Gremlins!
Happy running Runners!β€οΈ

This is just it, it's all progress and it's all moving forward β you are keeping up with this after the success of your August challenge so great credit. Whatever works for you, works for you. There is no right way really, just your unique way which is lovely to watch unfold. Enjoy your rest day with all the positivity you've earned so far. You're moving this bandwagon on πππ
Thanks so much GTFC!! π€ Itβs an exciting adventure thatβs for sure. Iβm still waiting for the body to catch up a bit, but Iβm getting there and Iβm absolutely loving it. πβ€οΈ
You sound so happy Fab. You and the Sarge will be mates before long and youβll be super fit to boot! Imagine how uber fit youβll be if he accompanies you all the way to JOG! π±π₯β€οΈ
(And have seen how far ahead the leader is now? How???? π€£)
Thanks so much Cheeky!! π€ I am very happy indeed. Thereβs no pressure, Iβm just taking it one day at a time!
Our LEJOG leader however....well...heβs definitely in matrix/terminator/demolition/superman...etc, etc mode. Phenomenal!! π±π± He will probably be on LEJOG 10 by the time I finish. π
I know the Sarge likes me really π€«. He keeps checking up on me. ππ!
Youβll soon have Mr Sergeant Major Garmin eating out of your hands... (I assume he is on them already?) Heβll soon ask you for permission to tell you to jump! π€£π€£π€£
Brilliant post Fabulous450 and you're right better to have a positive if not a bit bossy voice in your ear than the alternative. Hope you're enjoying your new watch and the LEJOG challenge. ππ
Thanks so much Buddy34!! π€ Iβm loving it and every little helps. The Garmin is my perfect companion. It has been very βmotivatingβ!! ππβ€οΈ
Thanks so much Sybilw! π€ I have to admit that this plan is not a very hard push, but itβs doable and gradually increasing, so thatβs why itβs working well for me. Iβm still not light of foot π!! I guess it takes a bit of time to shift back into gear, but the excitement is all the way up!! Iβm happy with that. Practice in patience!! πβ€οΈ
Thanks so much Delly-dot!!π€ I havenβt done a long run yet, so hopefully that will go well too. Iβm just letting things unfold the good old C25K way! I was a very happy runner then too! π LEJOG and Mr Garmin have certainly caught me by surprise. Itβs a great feeling! And Iβve got much improvement and achievements to go! ππβ€οΈ
Thanks so much Mum22boys!! π€ Nothing like a bit of self-entertainment!! π
Since I started this running journey, lightheartedness has been my approach. I didnβt want to run a marathon, I just wanted to say Iβm a runner! That was the only mission. How far or how fast, Iβm not bothered. Iβm just pumped that βIβ...I repeat.....βI runβ π³!! I still laugh due to the sheer magic of being able to say it. Two years on and itβs not perfect, but itβs fabulous indeed π. β€οΈ
Ah but there is magic in dreams! So, my cheerleading offer stands in waiting! And Iβm sure UnfitNoMore will continue to be an inspiration to us all. ππ€β€οΈ
Going to set the schedule in stone around Christmas... Iβd love to do Loch Ness, and also have my eye on Firelighter (day one of ring of fire) for next autumn... if I can do them both that would be wonderful. Hopefully Iβll see you on that start line... or at the nearest bar to the finish line π€£
Oh thanks so much Beachcomber66! π€ Can you tell, Iβm loving it? π€£π€£ Jeff isnβt convinced, but Iβm working on him and Sergeant G isnβt interested in any rest, he says itβs slacking, so Iβll just do as Iβm told...(for now! π€π)!
Iβve no big ideas or expectations Beachcomber66 π€«, Iβm just going with the flow!π€πβ€οΈ
Nice to see RSM Garmin is kicking your butt π€£. HIIT MORNINGS, HIIT run sessions... youβre gonna be glad to see the starry lines of those longer easy runs!!
Better than being Major Incident I guess... thatβs what little miss gets called sometime, when she enters the kitchen thereβs usually the sound of things hitting the floor soon afterwards... still, what she keeps in the pan and gets onto a plate is pretty good.
