A Cold Run An Unexpected 10k and got to see Santa 🎅

Woke up before the alarm again for an early morning run, riding shotgun for Tinytears60 and Plattszo’s Race for Life, then remembered must wear something pink....couldn’t find anything, went through the drawer in the kitchen and found....a hair band! All I need now is to find some hair 🤣 so tied this to the chord of my running tights.

Chose the Nike Run Club A Cold Morning Run, a 45 minute run with Coach Bennett giving advice on running in the cold weather, which seemed appropriate given the change in climate. My nose seemed to want to run too...nice. Chose my old route today and set off at a nice steady pace, no PB’s in mind today, just a run, basically because I can.

Reached different points en-route and thought back to having reached them in the past as a goal, as I continued on past them, which was a good feeling, I reached the park and had to do a double take 👀 as I saw a portly old gent with a big white beard walking towards me, wearing trainers....I thought even Santa’s doing C25k!!

Anyway before I knew it the 45 mins had come to an end, but still feeling pretty good I pressed Resume Workout and continued on until I reached 10k 😁 I’m still amazed at the distance I can cover these days and flattered when work colleagues tell me they’ve decided to give C25k a go because of me 😊

I understand that being typical ladies the Pink Posse have decided to keep a gentleman waiting....and there epic run will now take place tomorrow.

Cant wait to see their posts which I’m sure will be as entertaining as always....Good Luck ladies 👍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Well done! Just done my contribution for RFL this morning too! It was cold when I set out, but my long sleeved top came off and ran in my running vest after 20 minutes, but I'm in the south east of the UK so maybe it's warmer here.

Well done to you too Roxdog, it was chilly this morning, lovely morning though, I wore my long sleeve top too, needed my running hat as well. I still prefer early mornings for running.

Me too, although as the darker mornings arrive I'll have to start enjoying my runs at other times.

I’ve invested in a Karrimor chest torch, it’s easy to put on and the beam is impressive, plus you can angle it, it has 3 brightness settings and it’s rechargeable 👍

Sports Direct sell them, they’re £19.99

Hmmm...

Things I love...

'no PB’s in mind today, just a run, basically because I can.'

'Reached different points en-route and thought back to having reached them in the past as a goal'

'before I knew it the 45 mins had come to an end, but still feeling pretty good I pressed Resume Workout and continued on until I reached 10k 😁'

This post maybe only runners will understand because it's your journey and your progress. I'm giving you one of these my man...❤

Thanks GTFC, I think you’re probably right maybe it’s something only runners would understand, it’s funny what goes through your mind as you’re running along. It takes a lot of time and effort before it becomes easier and more enjoyable, definitely worth persevering though 👍

Absolutely...we earn the right to have days like these.

Good run and time for you Couchphoenix, I thought for a moment that you saw me with my 8 inch white beard coming towards you with my blue running shoes when I was running my 15th (not ) parkrun this morning but no, you don't live anywhere near me.

During my run this morning I saw several ladies in pink Race for Life T shirts running on the same route as I was.

Thanks AlMorr, I thought it was you at first, but then I realised it was actually Santa limbering up in readiness for the festive season 😜.

The time was pretty good really, didn’t really push myself this morning, just wanted to enjoy it.....it’s a bonus though 😁

Unfortunately I didn’t see any ladies in pink running this morning, must have been out there a bit too early.

😂😂😂well done for the 10K run Couchphoenix 👏👏👏 was cold this morning went very early and I only did 5K and back... can’t wait for the pink ladies post 😂😂😂

Thanks MccHa, it was a bit fresh, but a lovely morning here. Nothing wrong with a 5k I didn’t intend to do 10k, but sometimes you feel like you just want to keep on going......so I did 🏃‍♂️

I’m sure the pink ladies will be worth the wait 😂😂

Hi Couchphoenix, I use the NRC app but I must admit I haven’t tried that run. Looks like tomorrow would be a good day to start!🥶

Well done on your run, that’s a great result! If we can all get a few people to try C25K we’ll all be happier and healthier🙂👍

Hi David_G, it’s lovely when someone says you’ve inspired me to give it a go, especially as when I started C25k I told nobody I was doing it, I only told them when I had completed it 👍

Brilliant!

I love that you just pressed Resume Workout and carried on until you reached 10k! Why? Because you can!

I wondered what had happened to TT60 et al - will look forward to tomorrow's post.

I wore my pink running jacket for the first time in their honour for my 5k on Friday morning. It kept the wind off nicely 😁

Thanks Birdlady64, I went out with the intention of just completing the 45 min run, but it was such a lovely morning I thought why not just carry on.

I’m sure the girls will do us proud as always 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hey 👋

Love the fact you managed a bit of pink to carry with you 💕

Sounds like a good run BB - well done 👏👏👏

Was gutted today, especially as I had posted about group run on here 🙈😢

Zoe had much deserved date nite on Friday which included a glass or 2 🍷🍷

Fingers crossed for tomorrow for me 🤞
