me vs. the wind run: I won!

Today's weather, like for so many of you, has been awful. However, I was determined to get out for me run today! I really want to stick to my plan :) So I found I gap in the rain in the late afternoon and planned to do an easy 35 minute run - up from 30 minutes. I ran my speed workout yesterday, so this was a planned easy run.

I had also been watching some videos on how to self check your form, so I also implemented every couple of minutes little checks on myself - stuff like keeping my chin up, shoulder back, core engaged... and honestly this also really helped me! I felt a lot stronger running, and I had no aches in my upper body, which I usually do.

I did start out a little too fast (no negative splits for me!) but not so much that it affected my run. I wasn't trying to run fast at all, but somehow even with the wind I ended up doing a little over 6km in 35 minutes - faster than what I thought was my normal! This + foam rolling and stretching and I'm feeling much better than before I went out :) and am looking forward to my last run of the week on Sunday. Overall I'm really happy with today's run!!

That's lovely 😊 it really is all the little bits, the 1%'s.

Hydration, stretching, strengthening, foam rolling, carbs, form etc. The list can be endless and finding a good balance gives you the best opportunity to run well each and every time. We run best when our experience allows us to run free, without thinking. When we get in that moment it is sublime. Sunday will cap another excellent week 👏👏👏

yes I've definitely felt better since incorporating all the little things!! foam rolling + stretching afterwards especially.

true! today I loved it though because the time just seemed to pass? I was aware i was running but it didn't feel hard / like I was working out. And yes I'm very happy of this week :)
