I want some running trousers that aren't leggings.

At the moment I run in a pair of Karimor trousers that are really light and comfy which I got second hand, but I want a spare pair and I can't find anything similar.

They're made of a woven fabric not knitted, so they're trousers not leggings. They have zips at the ankles and zip pockets either side. They're not loose but not skin tight either.

Does the thing I want even exist? Every website I try for 'running trousers' only has leggings. Any suggestions gratefully received!

Sorry but I don’t have any idea about your search however I would say that a well fitting, supportive legging can really give a boost. There are some really great designs out there 👍😊

Seem to remember UnfitNoMore mentioned running trousers recently.

Possibly from Decathlon.

He will be able to give more details 😊

Thanks! I’d not heard of Decathlon and they didn’t come up in any of my googles but they look like the sort of thing I’m after. Much appreciated. 😀

Sure thing. I love the running trousers and don’t need shorts over them

Men’s decathlon.co.uk/p/run-dry-m... they also do them for women, and while the men’s have a little zip pocket at the back, ladies get that and also both regular pockets zip up for the same price. Sexist if you ask me.

Run dry are the spring-autumn rating, though as I ran both previous winters in shorts I will probably not be buying winter ones. Run dry isn’t waterproof, it refers to the fact that they wick sweat and also dry fast after rain.

The winter range is “run warm” and they also have waterproof and tough ones for trail running, all at reasonable prices.

Thanks, that’s really helpful. 😀

My daughter also loves them, which is how I know the ladies are even better value! I now have a few pairs and pretty much live in them, can’t remember when I last wore jeans. They need to do a pair without the reflective bits and with a nice jacket for when I’m allowed to go to weddings again!

Very unusual for a woman's trouser to have more pockets than the men's!

Same pockets... but all 3 zip on the women’s pair, just the back one on the men’s.

So I bought them, they arrived today and I took them for a run, they’re exactly what I was hoping for, thanks for the tip.

I have some Nike running trousers, they are similar material to leggings but soft on the inside with a cuff at the ankle. I got them last winter in our local outlet store but I can see the same (or very similar) things on the Nike website, admittedly at £67.95 a pop.

I’ve done some running in walking trousers and they seemed to do the job. They are wicking and quick drying, and were not tight leggings.

You probably are looking for something like these. They're lightweight and lined with mesh.

I run in tracksuit bottoms. They are slim leg but not skin tight, have a drawstring on the waist to keep them up, zips on the ankles and zip up pockets. They are also a polyester type fabric so dry very quickly and don’t need an iron. They are Nike Dri- fit but I got them from Amazon.

I use these, great running pants:

Nike Mens Phenom Essential Woven Running Pants Black.

But they are essentially track pants. Zip cuffs and pockets. Drawstring waist.

Thanks everyone, that's given me some direction, I'm going to put a couple on my birthday list :)

Ron Hill tracksters are excellent- decent zipped pockets, drawstring waist and lightweight wicking fabric and not clingy. I got them online from JL , not expensive.
