Hi all, I am ashamed to admit that after completing my first 10k in May last year, my running dwindled then stopped (no injuries). I had started a new job that made it difficult to find the time/energy but perhaps that is just an excuse... I really want to start again but lack motivation. Am I better returning to the latter part of couch to 5K? Should I just go out and see what happens? Any advice most welcome. Thank you.

Restarting after 15 months?
If you have been off running for more than 6 months it's better to restart at week 1 of C25K but you could try and test yourself and see how it goes, week 3 is a popular week for graduates who have not ran for a little while.
Sadly, our fitness may remain with other exercise, but the conditioning of the muscles to running will have dwindled slowly away. Articles I’ve read on this subject tend agree that at over 3 months of not running a complete restart is required. runnersworld.com/beginner/a... you may get away with starting a little more advanced that C25K W1R1 but there will be a risk of injury.
Many thanks. Back to the start it is!
Well done! And I think it’s a great choice. I’m rather a first timer, but my life-long running husband (and he was in the top 2% of a Glasgow half marathon run once) just started C25k after recuperating from an injury. And he suggests it’s a great recovery and getting-back-to-full-fitness plan!
Happy running!
