Iβm sooooo excited! ππ½ππ½ I could only see 100 miles on the LEJOG4 map as my first goal, but I had heard that you get a postcard at 50 miles. I got my first LEJOG postcard to share with you yesterday after an amazing run in the woods! π³π²ππ½ββοΈπ§π½ββοΈ
Sgt Garmin has been a task master! ππ½ββοΈπ€¨π£, but heβs got me meeting so many goals now. π€«... We wonβt talk about the fact that he set them...not me πΆ and ππ½ββοΈπ£π he keeps increasing them too...π¬! π€£π€£ I still kind of like him...A LOT though π₯°. Just donβt tell him that π€«.
Iβm enjoying my 10k plan with Jeff Galloway too. I didnβt do the βJeffingβ yesterday because I was enjoying myself so much in the woodsπ²π³, but after reading his 3 minute training for the 10k advice π, I am going to βrun/walk/runβ as recommended and maybe Iβll even get a better time on the final 10k run π€·π½ββοΈ. So...much against my normal βdo as you pleaseβ approach π³π, I shall try to reign myself in! (ππ½ββοΈπ€¨ππ» βGood luck with that oneβ!....ππ...βOh Sarge, ye of little faithβ!)...I can do it! π¬
I have moved up the LEJOG π¬π§ positions into the 500βs π²π²!! Maybe not for long, but itβs nice all the same. I was in the 700βs last week. And let me openly declare that Iβm unashamedly counting my total steps, converted into miles automatically by Sarge ππ½ββοΈπ’...not just runs. Itβs allowed and having fun, getting as close as I can is good enough for me.
Thereβs no chance of seeing even the back of the leader at any point, unless heβs lapping me while on LEJOG 6 that is! So I donβt reckon heβll be angry at me π€£π€£. Besides...π€·π½ββοΈ there has to be some reward for springing into action every time Sgt Garmin says ππ½ββοΈπ£ βMOVEβ! π±..π€¦π½ββοΈ..π..ππΌπ€ΈπΎββοΈππ½ββοΈπ―ββοΈππΌ...π€£π€£ Iβm a bit curious as to what Iβll do when Iβm in company!! I could end up acting like Pavlovβs dog...π―π₯΄! At least my boys know whatβs coming when they hear it now! πππ!
Itβs been a great week and Iβm loving it π₯°. Long may it continue! Oh yeah...π€...that wish is already granted! π§π½ββοΈπ
Happy running Runners!! β€οΈ

WOW Fabulous! You are just fizzing and buzzing and Sgt Garmin ππΌshould be very proud of his new recruit! You go girl!
Ah thanks so much WillowandSola!! π€ I am truly honoured to be thought of as a friend. π₯°
I have to declare that βThe Commitmentsβ are my own virtual band and the songs are written by me. They represent the decisions Iβve made to join LEJOG, commit to a new 10k plan and to regular exercise and overall wellbeing. But...π€ I do think there is a real band called The Commitments. I had better be careful of any copyrights π€£π€£! πβ€οΈ
Great progress there! Iβve got my postcard too but can I ask about the photos? Iβm not sure Iβm using the site properly as Iβve not got any views like that. Just a little pin dropped on the A30!
Go to the satellite view on the map, then scout around a bit to see whatβs there (using the 2 fingers to scroll).
Thereβs usually some Google links near the shops and attractions that you can see. I click those and then have a look at their google info or website.
If I like it, I then take a photo of it on my phone.
I just add a couple of the photos I like to my end of week collage.
I hope Iβm not making it sound like Iβm a expert or too technical, because itβs easy with a collage photo App! πβ€οΈ
Crikey Fab450, I canβt keep up with you! I did 9k on the magic plan this morning and Iβm βdunferβ. But pretty pleased as well as it was 4 minutes faster than the first time I did it in April so thatβs OK. Youβre cracking on through my home county of Cornwall, enjoy that virtual scenery if Sgt Garmin will let you! Heβs a real task master isnβt he?! Happy running !
I would NEVER had planned to do it that way! ππ And I feel fantastic today too π€ͺ. Not a twinge or an ache anywhere. I have definitely found that itβs best for me to just go with curiosity and βweβll see what happens todayβ each day I go out. Sometimes, every so often these little gems just arrive. π€£π€£ My longest run was over 11k and it happened almost exactly the same way. It has been a while though. πβ€οΈ
I love this Fab, it sounds like you are really enjoying your running at the moment, good for you. Your run yesterday sounded perfect too, I think I need to do more 'just run' runs and think less when I do it, rather than worrying about how far I'm going or for how long.
Keep doing what you're doing as you are doing it brilliantly and I hope you keep having fun with Sgt. Garmin πͺππββοΈπ₯³
Thanks so much Forest_Run_Beginner!! π€ That go with it has been what works for me. I find the opposite much more challenging. The loser I am the more I get done!! ππππ½
Sgt Garmin intends to show me whoβs boss mind! ππ½ββοΈ...! πβ€οΈ
Love how you are building, challenging, changing and evolving into a fabulously fab 50! Just do your thing, which is hitting all the right notes and sprinkling stardust along the way π
Thanks so much GTFC!! Iβve certainly had so much fun!! And that always works well for me. I find it all a bit of an adventure π! Even with the challenges ππ½ββοΈπ! β€οΈ
What a post! Love reading about running (especially your posts about your whole training ππ½ββοΈ team). Are we all becoming running geeks? Or are we just runningly cool π? (Got to ask my teenage son what the current word for βcoolβ is...)
