Was very consistent up to and including graduation. Never missed a running day. Did well for a couple of months post graduation with the NHS plus programmes but a) work got busy and I drifted back to my old ways of prioritising work over everything else and b) bit dispirited by apparent lack of improvement so have now missed quite a few weeks other than the odd half hearted effort here and there. Am thinking I need another specific target such as 10 k but I do like having Laura to talk me through it. Recommendations to get me back on track?

Hi Runbird, improvement has probably crept up on you without you noticing..... it’s easy to forget how blinkin’ hard you had to work to get you to where you are now, which is still going for the odd run.
Did you find C25K provided the discipline of booking the runs in so that you knew eg Tuesday was w7/run2? If so, maybe pick back up at say week 7 and let Laura get you back in the swing? See you out there tomorrow at 7.30???
There are many ways to measure improvement... not all will be evident all the time... sometimes none will be obvious.
As above, go for a run with Laura again for old times sake. I also love using the guided runs on Nike Run Club, either time or distance, especially the ones with coach Bennett. He got me running the right way from 5k all the way to half marathon... talks a lot more than Laura though!
I would second this... really like the Nike run club guided runs. I particularly like to use them when I'm feeling a bit daunted about a run. Coach Bennett has a really relaxed style of getting you through the run. Lots of talking so the minutes tick by without you really noticing! If you like Laura I would definitely give this app a try 🙂
It’s really hard initially after doing C25K. It takes time before running becomes a true habit. But if you run 5K x 3 times per week for 6 to 8 weeks it will form a habit and become easier. Keep at it, graduating from C25K is the hardest part and you’ve done the hard part.

I lost my mojo last week! Been back on track this week. I’ve found the virtual run challenges have helped me, I’m currently doing the Wales Coastal Path( it’s for a year) and you can combine your walking and running miles. Also signed up for a September running challenge, I chose an easy ish one, 25 miles in September, which has helped, it’s made me run 3 times this week with a minimum of 3 miles( each run)Next month I may up the miles for the month as the weather is going to be less appealing for running 😂 as long as I make the 25 for this month of course 😂
