CR17 - heavy rain and tears of joy!

So I went out tonight thinking I'd avoid the rain and do a 3.5k or 4k but shortly after I started the spits began and I found it quite refreshing to run in so I just kept plodding on. However, it got heavy pretty quickly and I considered calling it a day at 2k but when I hit that mark I realised my pace was pretty good so decided to keep going. The rain also meant that there wasn't many people or cars around so I found it was really enjoyable and made for a pleasant change.

I hit 5k and clocked 29:14 on my garmin 😁🎉💪 I punched the air with delight and actually cried!!! I still can't quite believe it, my sub 30 goal smashed!! I am beyond chuffed and my Avg. pace of 5:51 has me speechless... I really didn't think either of these targets were achievable for me but here I am 😁

Sub 29 I've got you in my sights But I'm in no hurry to reach you 🙄
