Today was Day 2 of my running plan with my mate Garmin and my Olympian coach Jeff Galloway!! ππ½
It was cadence drill and acceleration-glider drills day. I watched the videos! β I did a little practice to make sure I was clear about the mission β !...Got it!ππ½...excited...ππ½....time to go ππ½! I went out, all ready to have some fun π₯π₯π₯.
Weeelllll....I was fiddling... trying to press the right buttons π. Garmin stayed on the first drill throughout and I didnβt get the bleeps, despite multiple pressing and lots more fiddling.
Iβm sure my coach Jeff was thinking βwhat is she doing?β π€£. That would make 2 of us Jeff! π€π I knew not to press discard though π€. That would have been a bit too much to take π΅.
There was no turning back, so I just resorted to practicing both styles and gauging the time π³. Yes...I was a little bit all over the place and I donβt know what went wrong yet π¬.
It was only supposed to be a 25 minute run and I was out for 30 minutes, so I just stopped and saved. Iβll take those extra 5 as a few bonus additional steps to JOG π¬π§ π. Hey...Iβll take them where I can get them π. This run is saved and I could see the data immediately this time π.....so itβs all progress!
Iβm learning!! It will become second nature π (I hope!) π
Happy running Runners! β€οΈ

Errrr....yes, π³π³ I read that, but I didnβt quite know which button to press. I expected it to buzz me to tell me my time was up I guess. All I got to do with my pressing was pausing (..ooh no π²) and resuming (ok...maybe this is right...) over and over! π€ͺ
Some YouTube tutorials will have to be studied later today! πβ€οΈ
Bottom right is the lap button, and Iβm assuming thatβs what it was waiting for. If you have another session like that send me a screenshot of the workout and Iβll confirm.
You are getting used to a lot of new things! Once you work it out youβll be fine. The first time I did the different runs it wasnβt perfect but now I know what to expect - just have to check how many he wants me to do if each!
Iβm using Jeff as my coach for the second time. Mainly because I can only manage and fit in 3 runs a week.
Iβve learned how much more my watch can do since finishing C25K.
Thanks so much Lizzibeth78!! π€ Iβll get there. Itβs very much trial and error right now. The running part was great. I enjoyed it. But Iβll have to just learn about the functions as I go along. Even if itβs sort of trial and error! π
Iβm sticking to 3 runs a week. It perfect for me too. πβ€οΈ
The coaching for the drills are great. There are clips already uploaded to watch in the plan before you go out. Your coach does a mini demo and talks you through it for a few minutes and that works great.
Iβve just been told how to do the lap press too. You canβt know what you donβt know until you get there I guess π.
Way to go Fab450! Sounds like a nightmare to me - my multi tasking skills really donβt run to fiddling with technology at the same time as running, so well done you for cracking it!
Thanks so much Oldgirlruns!! π€ Iβve learned a lesson today and there might be more to come. Iβm not too bad with the tech, but I only used the one App before. Now Iβm on an app and the watch...well itβs certainly getting to know a different way. πβ€οΈ
Well done! π You really getting out there with determination these days! I've got a basic Garmin (35 I think) and 2 years on I still don't know how to use all the features π€£.
Thanks so much Slinkymalinki! π€ It would have been much easier if I didnβt create a plan. But itβs all the buttons, buzzes and bleeps to get used to straight away too!! ππ Never let it be said that Iβm not a trier! πβ€οΈ
π€·ββοΈ This technical stuff bamboozles me for sure π¬π¬π¬π¬π¬π¬ but it was a run, an extra 5 in the bag and the tour bus moves on π
Thanks so much GTFC! π€Yesssss!! ππ½ππ½ Iβm just under 34 miles in the bag without todayβs totals ππ, so the tour is well and truly on the road ππ½ββοΈ π΅ πΆ Party on π π₯³ ....ooh, I mean run on ππ½ββοΈ!! Ok...I mean both! πβ€οΈ
Loved that post. I can feel the fun youβre having with the new tech! And you have also already started talking to and telling off the man in your watch! ππ€£π§ππ»ββοΈ
Ah...best wishes for your little one Sybilw! Big school is a big step! It makes you realise how grown up they are and how fast time flies! I donβt have any grandchildren yet, but I can still remember my own getting there! So special seeing them in that big school uniform! π₯°π₯°β€οΈ
No youβre not!! Speaking as 1 of 7 (the youngestππ), I know that 6 makes family gatherings very nice indeed π!! Lovely....good on ya Sybilw!β€οΈ
