I was out for a bit of consolidation this morning and with the arrival of Autumn (before the August BH, God help us!) the strong winds had littered the path with all sorts of obstacles and hazards the most insidious of which were conkers! It was as if someone had scattered ball bearings over the path. They took me by surprise. I managed to stay upright but I must have looked like someone learning to skate with arms and legs going in all directions. A lesser hazard was a fall of pears - but I managed to pick up a few that the birds had spared on my way home while I was warming down - so it's an ill wind that blows no one any good!

Yikes, sounds a bit dangerous, something to look out for. Glad you got some pears though. Hubby came back from his run with some apples yesterday and we're about to head off on bikes brambling- they weren't so easy for him to carry while running 🤣 happy running 🤗

Oh crikey, conkers are lovely, but possibly the most hazardous things ever for runners. I haven’t seen one this year ..... will keep my eyes peeled!

Acorns !! They are even worse ! Because smaller and more numerous and harder to avoid !!!

Thanks for the warning. I haven't encountered any acorns yet, but I'll look out for them in case.
