A new part to my route...the possibilities

On a long walk yesterday with hubby we ventured past where I normally turn off on to the Macclesfield canal and ventured up to the Harecastle tunnel a major feat of engineering in the Industrial Revolution, surprisingly even though it’s fairly close to where I live I had not been there. My mind though went to the possibility of being able to extend my Friday run of 12k, so today setting off on a cool but dry early morning I ran up to the tunnel and then back on to my normal route. I have been looking at how to extend my runs to achieve my dream of 15k. I just wanted to push passed the 12k today and I achieved 12.5k and know that I can get to 13k next week now and the good news is I now have a plan to get to 15k - I love a plan! The other bit of news is I shall go on a short 1k walk later which takes me to 50 miles on LEJOG04, that’s a whole different plan altogether!

Brilliant reaching over 12k today. It’s so good when you find a route that suits. I see your next target is 15k, just so you are aware, if you then aim for 16.1 you’ll have covered an amazing 10miles for which there’s a lovely shiny badge on the marathon forum. Happy running 🤗

It's very sweet when you reach it - I've run it twice in August - once unintentionally. It's a very long way 🤣
