6 miles, well done, remember that you can add a few more miles when walking Buddy your dog.

I started thinking, I've got to do another 1395km and that sounded pretty terrifying so I'm just focusing on I've done 5, hurrah!

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Couchpotato2

Instead of thinking of the distance I just keep telling myself I've got a full year 🀣

Think of it in miles, not quite so dauntingπŸ˜‚

Couchpotato2 profile image

yes thinking of what I've done in km and what's left to do in miles. Best of both :-)

Back is 95% pain free, and knee is doing pretty well. Phone appointment with physio this afternoon. Just sitting here trying to compile some questions.

I’d love to be one of the people who rates a hands on appointment, but I’m expecting it all to be done by video calls/phone.

Oh well done! 6 miles! (frozen in awe and wonder)! I’m way behind you... but running I am .... albeit slowly! See you on route! Fun fun fun!

Well done Buddy, I got caught in a thunderstorm today, luckily I was on my way home so just slogged through the torrential rain and streams running down the path, yes they were running I was not! straight in the shower when I got in. Kit in the washing machine, shoes washed and stuffed with newspaper now sitting having a cup of tea feeling smugπŸ˜€One more little walk later to finish my miles for today if it dries up. Luckily I have more than one pair of trainers.

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Kat332zz

Thanks. Yes my running clothes must weigh about 3lbs🀣 I've now got a pair of shoes for the rain and a pair for dry weather 😊😊

Buddy is off and away πŸ₯³

Well done on the very first run of your challenge. I wish you happy and injury free running and can't wait to cheer you all the way! You can do it 🎽

Amazing, 6 miles already, brilliant. It's so much fun isn't it and the postcards are quite strangely motivational, I keep thinking 'If I do another x miles, I get my next one' so try to make myself go a little further :-) The things we do!

I hope you enjoy your journey to JoG, I'm currently on the M5 heading towards Taunton apparently (I am in the LEJoG 3 group) - not the most exciting scenery but loving it all the same, haha. :-)

Is the first postcard at 50 miles?πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Forest_Run_Beginner profile image
Forest_Run_BeginnerGraduate10 in reply to Buddy34

Yes, I've had 2 so far, one at 50 miles and then another at 100 miles. Once I log today's mileage, I should be just over 150 miles and so stupidly excited that I might therefore get another πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

RunaroundSue profile image
RunaroundSueGraduate10 in reply to Forest_Run_Beginner

Don't get too excited. I think the first postcard is 50, then 100, 200, 300, etc

I didn't get one at 150 but I did get an email when passed Banwell Bone Cave ( very good exhibition in Taunton Museum, we visited last year)

Forest_Run_Beginner profile image
Forest_Run_BeginnerGraduate10 in reply to RunaroundSue

Oh no, I've just crept past the 150 miles and was looking forward to seeing what would be on it ☹️ Ah well, I'll just have to push a bit harder and get to the 200 mile point then πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thank you for the heads up 😁

RunaroundSue profile image
RunaroundSueGraduate10 in reply to Forest_Run_Beginner

Not too far until you get to Banwell, about 170 miles I think

I logged 4.35 miles (7k) and it was warm sunshine - not toooo warm either, so a lovely run.

Have fun, and see you en route! πŸ˜€

What a fantastic challenge! Well done to you on your 6 mile start! πŸ‘ Do you usually think in miles for running or is this new for you, other than your 10 mile run?

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to over61andstilltrying

I always think in km for running. Its just because I've to input miles for the challenge πŸ‘πŸ‘

Hi Buddy! I’m in Scotland too, and also got soaked right through to my nikinakinoos. It’s a fairly new experience for me. I find I’m a fairy fairweather β€˜runner’. But I did my best time this morning so it must focus the mind getting drooked🀣. I use the Nike app and I like to see my miles build up there. Can you use another app like Nike when doing your year LA to JO’G run? I quite fancy giving it a go since I read it will send you pics of where you get to on the map? Thanks for sharing info.

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Banana12

I'm not sure about using the nike app . But what you can do is send an email to info@endtoend.run and ask them . Good luck 😊
