So first run of the challenge today and the rain is torrential but its Scotland so I'm used to it.
Home now, soaked right through to the underwearπ€£ .
6 miles done just 868 to go.
Good luck all ππ

6 miles, well done, remember that you can add a few more miles when walking Buddy your dog.
I started thinking, I've got to do another 1395km and that sounded pretty terrifying so I'm just focusing on I've done 5, hurrah!
Good start!
Thanks. How are you? π€
Oh well done! 6 miles! (frozen in awe and wonder)! Iβm way behind you... but running I am .... albeit slowly! See you on route! Fun fun fun!
Enjoy the journey!
Well done Buddy, I got caught in a thunderstorm today, luckily I was on my way home so just slogged through the torrential rain and streams running down the path, yes they were running I was not! straight in the shower when I got in. Kit in the washing machine, shoes washed and stuffed with newspaper now sitting having a cup of tea feeling smugπOne more little walk later to finish my miles for today if it dries up. Luckily I have more than one pair of trainers.
Buddy is off and away π₯³
Well done on the very first run of your challenge. I wish you happy and injury free running and can't wait to cheer you all the way! You can do it π½
Amazing, 6 miles already, brilliant. It's so much fun isn't it and the postcards are quite strangely motivational, I keep thinking 'If I do another x miles, I get my next one' so try to make myself go a little further The things we do!
I hope you enjoy your journey to JoG, I'm currently on the M5 heading towards Taunton apparently (I am in the LEJoG 3 group) - not the most exciting scenery but loving it all the same, haha.
Is the first postcard at 50 miles?πββοΈ
Yes, I've had 2 so far, one at 50 miles and then another at 100 miles. Once I log today's mileage, I should be just over 150 miles and so stupidly excited that I might therefore get another ππ
Don't get too excited. I think the first postcard is 50, then 100, 200, 300, etc
I didn't get one at 150 but I did get an email when passed Banwell Bone Cave ( very good exhibition in Taunton Museum, we visited last year)
Oh no, I've just crept past the 150 miles and was looking forward to seeing what would be on it βΉοΈ Ah well, I'll just have to push a bit harder and get to the 200 mile point then ππ Thank you for the heads up π
Well done Buddy! Nice solid run to start your journey. π πββοΈπ
I logged 4.35 miles (7k) and it was warm sunshine - not toooo warm either, so a lovely run.
Have fun, and see you en route! π
Well done - you're off to a flying start! π
Go for it Buddy!
A good start Buddy π isn't it exciting that we're all off. Hopefully the next set of miles won't be so wet π
What a fantastic challenge! Well done to you on your 6 mile start! π Do you usually think in miles for running or is this new for you, other than your 10 mile run?
Well done Buddy34, 6 miles done, great start π thatβs quite a challenge youβve set yourself πͺπ»
Good Luck Buddy π. Fabulous event and you have lots of company on here. Happy running and walking on your travels
Wow and what a challenge. Well done and keep moving. Iβm waiting to start the Welsh coast one.
Hooray! Marching bands playing, flags waving and crowds cheering as you set off on your first leg. Good luck!!!
Great start Buddy hope the weather gets better for you. Happy running and stay safe πββοΈπββοΈππππππ
Hi Buddy! Iβm in Scotland too, and also got soaked right through to my nikinakinoos. Itβs a fairly new experience for me. I find Iβm a fairy fairweather βrunnerβ. But I did my best time this morning so it must focus the mind getting drookedπ€£. I use the Nike app and I like to see my miles build up there. Can you use another app like Nike when doing your year LA to JOβG run? I quite fancy giving it a go since I read it will send you pics of where you get to on the map? Thanks for sharing info.
How incredible happy runnings
