Running Makes You Younger 😀

Opening the front door at 6am I really wasn't expecting to find it so warm and humid already ☹️ The sky looked threatening so I had my fingers crossed for some 🌧️

This run would be the last of Wk2 of the magic plan and the longest run I'd done in weeks, so I was slightly apprehensive plus a little worried about repeating Sundays Splat!

I'd set a workout on my watch (having watched a YouTube video) so I had a 10 minute warm up run with a target pace and then a 30 minute run at a bit faster pace. I rather liked the little graphic that showed how I was getting on, better than the loud buzz and BEHIND flashing up 😊 All was fine until the last 12 minutes or so when it got really hard work 🏃‍♀️ puff 🏃‍♀️puff🏃‍♀️puff… Frantic shouting from behind me and mad galloping as a very excitable Whippet overtook me and then did a brilliant impression of a handbrake turn to end up right in front of me 🤣🤣It was gone as quickly as it appeared and I struggled on puff 🏃‍♀️puff 🏃‍♀️puff

Finally stopped at 41.21 with a distance of 5.09k.

Back home looking through the data on my phone and Wow I absolutely love this! not sure what it really means but anything that says I'm 13 years younger than I am is brilliant 🎈🏃‍♀️🤣

Great run dijep and well done on getting to the end of wk2 of the magic plan.

The photo in your post is to do with the amount of oxygen you can consume per minute related to your run/ weight . This may explain it better 😊😊

Thanks for the link at least that explains it a bit more than on the app. I think its going to take a while understand all the different settings and data. It's a forerunner 45, I can't begin to imagine what some of the top of the range watches do 🤣

Brilliant effort, lovely to drop a few years, great work - my garmin doesn't show age 🤔 but my vo2max went up a point today - yay. It must have been so funny watching that whippet🤣🤣 happy running 🤗

No our garmin forerunner 35 doesn't show fitness age Grannyhugs but think the 45 does. But I'm not replacing my watch until it breaks down 🤣

I agree, no desire to change. Ran 10k today only checking to see if I'd run 8 or 9 k as I returned to village, ignoring pace - increased vo2max to 41, delighted.

Brilliant vo2 max , I got up to 41 a while back now more hills it has went down to 38 again . I feel like I'm running better what does garmin know anyway🤣🤣

Thanks Grannyhugs yes the Whippet was rather nice and so fast. My watch is the Forerunner 45, I'm still working out what it can do, think it'll take a while 😂

Oh wow that’s amazing, i love the fitness age thing, mind you i’m only 5 years younger than my real age but it’s still good to see, yours is amazing

Sounds like a good run

I'm taking it with a large pinch of salt 🤣But it made me feel good this morning when I found it 😊

Mine went up and up after i’d been ill and at one point it said i had the fitness age of 79

Brilliant dijep! Sounds like this was a great run. Wonderful that you are winding back the clock ⏰!! I only found this feature on my 45s the other day and was so disappointed that my fitness age is two years more 😧!!! I’m not looking again!!! 😫

Mines the same watch and as I said to WillowandSola I'm not really convinced that it's telling me the truth 🤣

Didn't you have to get a new watch recently? If so perhaps it takes a while to collect the data enough to give an accurate estimate?

Wow! I wonder how young you'll be when you get to the end of week 8! 🤣🤣

Well done though. It sounds like a good one all round.

Congrats on being 13 years younger and a great run in the humid heat! 😀

I'm very jealous of your winding back the years. My VO2 max has me aged 78, a poor specimen, must try harder etc. Its very annoying given that I can now run 9k non stop - surely that's not below average for a 61 yr old????

Mind you, if it said I was superfit and 10 years younger I would jump on it!!! 🤣🤣
