Today I went for the Jeffing ratio 90:30 and I have to admit, apparently Jeffing works! The shorter I make my running ratio, the faster I run and the further I run. It is SO weird! I did go a little out of breath after a while, but it was more doable than with londer run ratios and after the run I still felt fresh and energized! Next time I am going for 60:30. My Runkeeper did bug a bit, making it very hard to hear when to do what. I ordered myself a Gymboss, but it will be 2 to 3 weeks before it is here.
Anyhow, here below are some stats, all for 30 minutes.
That is SO fascinating, thanks for sharing! I have always struggled with walking breaks as I find it impossible to get into my stride running again, but perhaps the secret is shorter runs? Will give it a try!
Ah that is what the Garmin training plan was always trying to make me do! I found it weird when I tried it but it's supposed to be good for you. If you have a Garmin there are videos on it in the training section 👍
Sounds like you are mixing it up beautifully. I enjoy Jeffing too but find it much more fussy on a treadmill - can’t wait to get outdoors again.🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️Just a thought while you await your gadget ... what I did was revisit c25k early weeks so the intervals are timed for you. It also feels a bit rebellious to run when Michael (or whoever) is telling you to walk 😁
I tried walk/run and also slow jog/run and did a slow jog on the warm down section followed by my own warm down walk and stretches. I was amazed how much further I went than just straight running🤔
It IS amazing, right? So far I did it outdoors. But they promise icky weather and normally I then use the treadmill. But I don't think I can Jeff on my treadmill. Certainly because I am still experimenting and don't have a fixed pace yet... Pouring rain it will be I guess 😑
Actually, I stopped with C25K at the end of week 6. I still needed walking breaks and could not go on to week 7. But I did go further on my own and after a little bit of time (faster than if I fkept following C25K, I succeeded in running 3 consecutive times 30 minutes in 1 go. I explained it to the Roseabi, asking whether I could graduate after all and she allowed me for once despite not fully having followed C25K. I graduated I think on 9th of January.
Ah I see so you couldn’t tackle the 3 x 25 min runs on week 7 as you still needed walking breaks, but you were able to complete 3 x 30 min runs without a walking break having left the programme and achieved those faster than if you’d stayed on it......oh well, whatever works for you.
Pretty well actually. Read the instructions and found all clear. Only turning it off after it beeps like hell to announce you are done, that was a bit tricky. Must have scared some people with the incessant beeping 😂
