Hi, anybody any advice? I think I’ve developed a baker’s cyst behind my left knee. It’s my that painful but don’t want to make it worse so it stops me running!

In itself it shouldn’t stop you running for long, but from what I’ve read, it’s something that needs checking out as it’s sometimes a symptom of issues within the knee. runnersworld.com/uk/health/... and therundoctor.com/bakers-cyst/

Hubby and I get this occasionally but monitoring and not putting extra stress on knees- like kneeling for long time gardening etc, seems to clear it very quickly, within day. If this persists seek advice

I had this in my pre running days and I sympathise with you. The medical opinion then was that they don’t drain them but leave them to go on their own accord and less likely to return. I remember kneeling down was worst, such as gardening. Good luck- I hope it disappears fast.

Hi, thanks for the replies about the Baker’s cyst. I’m wearing a compression support and had it elevated most of the morning and the swelling has gone down. Glad to hear it’s not likely to be a long term problem as on a roll with running so keen to get out tomorrow. 🏃♀️🤞
