Getting Closer !

5:45am I could hear rain hitting the bathroom window this morning when I was about to go out and the little soppy voice in my head said, maybe leave it today, you’ll get soaked, its going to be fine tomorrow go out then.......but I ignored it, I felt rested and ready to run 🏃‍♂️

So off I went and having got outside it had actually stopped, it felt cool and the air was fresh.......pace felt good, breathing good, streets empty.....reached the park again and pushed myself as hard as I was able......music fades little Fitbit voice says......5k in 30mins 10seconds......aaaaahhhh....soooo close, shaved 15 mins off PB, and only 11 seconds off the less than 30 min 5k goal......still really pleased and proud for the rest of the day though......getting closer hopefully next time 👍

To take 15 minutes off your 5k time is amazing. I'm sure it won't be long until you get under that 30 minutes 😊👍

Thanks Buddy34, I’m enjoying the challenge....I’m going to increase distance once I’ve achieved that, I think it’s good to keep setting yourself a goal👍

Congratulations on your early morning run. I too love to go out early in the mornings and live running in the rain as I tend to overheat .

Like you, it usually cool and peaceful. And, the critters are scurrying back to their homes for the day.

If the weather is in my favour , I can usually run 7K. Otherwise , I plod along to 5 +

Thanks Bracken2018, it’s lovely running early in the morning, I’ve tried other times during the day but it’s not for me. Early morning the air is so much cleaner too.

Great running... while I love running in the rain, it’s not necessarily the best weather to hit a PB in. Congratulations on achieving that! I wouldn’t be surprised if you can knock those 11 seconds off next time, especially it it’s dry.
