Morning All, treated myself to my first pair of proper running trainer. Did an on line gait analysis with brooks and I bought what they advised were right for me. When I put them on they are like walking on air and I was soooo excited but when I run they make my calves ache really badly to the point I am having to stop my run. Is this normal? as its my first "proper" pair of trainers I don't know whether it is what I should expect or not!
Thanks

Hi, I actually went to a running shop to get my running shoes, they tracked the inward roll on my foot and ankle, using running machine and laptop to video my form, From there I had 3 choices... I’ve never looked back. You’ll also find that most guys in running shops are experienced runners, hope this has helped
Is the heel-toe drop smaller than in your previous shoes, I wonder? If your shoes are flatter they can make you run differently, landing further forward on your feet. This can be harder on the calves until you get used to it, so it may be helpful to alternate the new shoes with the old for a while, and only go short distances in the new ones.
