A good weeks running..and a little bling! 🏅

Ok, I said I would try hill reps once I'd completed my GreatRun Solo Challenge, so on Tuesday I trotted off to my local Parkrun course to give them a go!

Having warmed up nicely on the run over there, I decided to start with four intervals up the hill, easch time jogging back down for recovery before going again. I certainly felt my lungs and legs working but didn't want to go so crazy that I ended up on the ic! Maybe I should have pushed harder as I sort of enjoyed it! 😉 I then trotted off on another little run before returning to do a further two reps, finishing with another short run. Covered about 5k (hill reps and run altogether). I was back on this course two days later 'practising' the Parkrun route which involves running the full hill x 2, so my legs have had a good workout this week!

Today's weekend run was a sensible 5k after several weeks of longer runs. Out on the trails, feeling cooler and happy with my pace. Best news of all is I think I may have to stop referring to my left knee as my 'niggly' knee - no problems from it at all. Perhaps it's the Magic shoes AND the hills I have been doing regularly?

Returned home to find my GreatRun medal had arrived too! 😀

Happy running this weekend eveveryone.🙂

Great medal!! 🥇

Well done once again for experimenting with length of run as well as type of run. It really is paying off 😊

Sounds great Sandraj39 ! I started doing some interval training this week for the first time since I started running over 2 years ago. What a revelation! It’s a new challenge for me and I was surprised I actually found I had different paces - easy, 10k, 5k and mile etc. I never knew I had them, let alone that I knew the difference somehow😳

Well done on your medal! We all like a bit of bling every now and again to keep us motivated🙂👍

Well done Sandra, it’s sounds like you enjoyed it all and we keep getting told hills are good for us. I love the sentiment on the bling too.

Nice medal Sandra.

Sounds like you're really enjoying your running at the moment, good for you.

Great that you feel your left knee is no longer niggly. Mine still is, but I've only been off the IC about 2 or 3 weeks. Perhaps in time I should tackle some interval hills.

Well done, and happy running :-)

Thank you Sandra, I'm sure it will....I just have to be a bit sensible for the time being.

Well done again to you.

Lovely bling and photo. Well done on these hill repeats. As I read about them I thought about a short but very steep hill I ran this morning wondering if I could use that to do the same, then remembered I hate hate hate running down it as it's so steep, oh well, I'll think of you next time I go up. Happy running 🤗
