Running for me

I’m back to running after a break (40 years) and now on week 14. Ran 12k v slowly on week 12 and then just ran 5ks last week. Ambition is to get under 30 min for 5k and then run a 10k race later this year when they are back but I’m enjoying getting fitter each week

Well done , it sounds like you’ve made very speedy progress over lock down. The under 30 min 5k target is a good one - after 2 years I am still not there - but for me it will happen at parkrun if anywhere.

It sounds like you are ready for your first 10k race. I did my first one at Bristol and loved it. I am still booked for one in September If it’s still on.

Just remember that some of your running should be at slower pace. Also JogRunSprint is good fun if you’ve got somewhere safe to try that.

Enjoy your return.
