Those babies are 1 year old today (my cat is older), it was on the 26th June 2019 I got a gait analysis and bought my first proper running shoes

It’s a rather special day when you go out and get some really good running shoes isn’t it? we did that the other day, it’s when you realise you are going to keep on running and are worth it

Happy birthday 🥳 to your shoes Al

Have a fab day

Thanks W&S, won't be running today but tomorrow I will be running my 15th virtual parkrun and my second (not) parkrun in those birthday shoes.

Happy birthday Al’s shoes 🎈🎉🏃 lovely colour! I notice the cat looks totally disinterested 🙄

I’m about to hit the buy button on a similar coloured pair 🙂 so exciting.

I did tell you IP that I would post that photo today Friday, a year to the day that I bought them, I posted the photo at around 5am, last year I bought the shoes around 10am after a gait analysis, yes the cat is totally disinterested

Happy birthday Blue babies! 🎂🎈🎁🎉🏃‍♀️

AlMorr profile image

Yes Cockneymick, they are blue because I am from Scotland, if I was Irish I would have bought green shoes.

Surely a tartan design would have been more agreeable!? I wear my sons expensive cast offs. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I did not see any tartan running shoes.

Ooh- they look like mine! 🙂

That is very good 59er, they are very comfortable to run in. 😊 🏃🏾

I actually noticed that your laces are still in mint condition. Unfortunately a mouse got to one of mine so its all frayed and a little worse for wear! 🤣

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to59er

O dear, a mouse, my cat pictured on the right of the picture sometimes thinks the laces are to be played with, so I make sure he is in another room when I am tying them.

We used to have a cat - a real good mouser! I live in a rural location so we get our fair share of mice - I could do with another cat.

1st anniversary of your running shoes AlMorr and they still look great 😊👍

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply toBuddy34

They are still great to run in Buddy34, I try to keep them clean by gently scrubbing them if they get muddy, my next running shoes will be either brown or black.

Wow! Alan those shoes are in such good nick! You’ve looked after those and by the way your cat is beautiful.

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply tolexi6

I have ran about 350km in them, which is nothing compared to some people who run HM or more in a weekly basis, I like to scrub them if they get muddy, I bet you are looking forward to the 4th July and your first parkrun for a while, I am glad that you say my cat is beautiful, thank you.

Can’t handle muddy shoes myself either and yes I’m counting down to an actual (not) not a parkrun) forecast is for wet and cold, but don’t think anyone will mind, least me, looking forward to company. Keep cool over there. 😸👍

The weather was hot on Thursday, 28C, today Friday is humid and wet, many places have had thunderstorms but where I am there so far has been no thunder, but could come later.

Nice shoes amd they still look in great condition. With all the shoe post's recently I'm even more keen to get some proper running shoes. Enjoy your run tomorrow 😊

AlMorr profile image

I will enjoy my run tomorrow, once you get your new running shoes you are obliged by C25K law to take a photo of them for all of us to see, the name we give to those pictures are "shoe porn".

I will do although I don't know where to go, might put a post up soon looking for some recommendations

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply toMum22boys

Any good sports shop, they are all due to reopen on Monday, most have a treadmill when you will get a gait analysis and after that you can buy the recommended shoes.

They've been on many a journey with you my friend. It's always exiting picking running shoes as the options are so varied.

Once the lockdown has eased and the sports shop I bought those shoes is open again (that is if its not like my hairdresser and gone out of business) I will buy a number of sports clothing, perhaps a 10K T shirt, another running belt and brown trail running shoes so I can run in muddy conditions as I try to avoid mud with the blue shoes you see in the photo, not immediately as it will be very busy having been closed for more than three months. 😊 🏃🏾
