It was after I'd got out the door today that I realised that it was a year ago that I quietly stepped out my front door to start my running journey. I cried that day as I couldn't even manage a minute and having had a heart attack two months earlier, at the age of 42, I knew I had to do something to get me in shape and help strengthen my heart.
One year on and after a week off running due to illness (temperature of 40 on Monday last week) I thought I'd just do a short run this morning, but the day was so beautiful I ended up going off road (oh how I love my Brooks hybrids), enjoying the views and running a 9k instead.
Life can be a funny old place sometimes but I can't imagine mine without my running now. For whatever reason you run enjoy it and good luck.
Oh and I had a little cry today realising how much I've achieved in that year......and then a punch in the air because I'm damn proud of all of it.
