Well I have started the magic 10 after 13 consolidation runs I am not confident I will get to 10k but I am going to heed the advice I have been reading before starting, keep to a slow pace. Any extra distance would be a bonus. Did short run Sunday so I did the 2nd run today, I’m not sure whether to do time or distance. I’m working on distance at the start and may change if I find it hard. Did 5km today.
Was thinking of doing some hill strengthening as described in one of the links but not sure when you do this.
Do you do it after the short run or on a rest day ?

Well done for starting the 10k plan. You could use your shortest run for your hill section- no point making life harder than it needs to be. If you are new to hills start small and build up. I started hills in February after graduating 10k in November. Small steps uphill, try not to brake to hard downhill or your knees will feel it. Good luck. Happy running 🤗
I was a bit wary of embarking on the magic plan as well June441 but needed something to aim for - trust me, if I can do it (and it took a while but I did get there in the end!), I’m certain you can! I stuck to the planned runs pretty well all the way through although I was assured you don’t actually need to, as long as you do them all before moving on to the next group . Whether you opt for time or distance is up to you - I chose distance purely because I run so slowly I’d already run for an hour one day when I did a 6k run! At this stage of your running career, you shouldn’t run on your rest days, do another form of exercise instead. Enjoy the Magic Plan!
